i upgraded my opamps to burson, but think the output caps can do better than plain standard nichicon bp. how high a rating can i go on the vdc ?

those el cheapo elna's on my x-meridian 2g have gone bad and are now bloated. i'm off tomorrow to replace them with blackgate's or rubycon or whatever i can find.. to think it would last at least 6 months :/.

can i just buy any opamp off of an online store and install it in the bravura ? i'm confused as the auzen website sells opamps with adaptors..

decided to try linux. i tried ubuntu, then ubuntu studio and now openSUSE 11.1. sound is quite good with straight 16/44.1 but haven't tried upsampling. what linux media player do you use ?

i just recently tried an acoustic zen silver photon and it beat my kimber agdl fresh out of the box. i'm ok with this cable but tempted to go silver byte (200$ v. 100$ for the photon). will there be much improvement going to the byte ?

i finally got around to getting a "high-end" dac. my first dac was the maudio superdac, followed by an evs millenium 1b, these were for hi-fi. then i moved to pro-audio to try what they have to offer. third was the emu 0404 usb, the behringer src2496 and now i finally have a dac1. i heard...

my emu 0404 usb broke after getting a linear regulated psu. now i'm stuck using the integrated sound of my gigabyte ep35-ds4. thing is, it sounds good ! it doesn't have the low level resolution of my modded 0404 but it's still detailed. has good tone and i don't miss any clarity...

any one have this problem ? my itunes stutters as if there's a scratch on the ripped cd.. when i play the part over by moving the seek bar there's no glitch.. irritating !

it's quite clear, no noise. resolution is top notch.. beats all the spdif cables in my signature with this particular application. (please: no guys saying it's placebo.. go make a comparison and don't get zip cord a and zip cord b and say there's no difference.)

i have an emu 0404 usb and for the want of wanting something more without spending much, i've decided to have it modified. the only thing i can get at the moment are some nichicon caps, the opamps are in transit and will take a bit. what change in sound will i get from only changing the caps ?

just taking a head count... please say if your 0404 usb died and what was the problem with it.

what's the clearest sounding digital cable i can get for under or equal to 200$ ? my ota digital cable is clear but i can breakouts and dropouts at 96khz.. my conductor is next but is not as clear... thanks !

i tried an old digital cable i had from my old hi-fi setup, stealth fineline mk. ii, plugged it in the coaxial in, set the direct monitor to main and took out the usb cable.. it sounds better ! can anyone chime in ?

and looking at the echo audio fire 2. according to one reviewer at dolphinmusic, the audiofire series uses the same dac for all it's models + the oversampling has got me piqued... i'm looking for more resolution over the emu 0404 and just as good tonality.

i was playing around with my foobar settings and tried having my .mpcs fully buffered to minimize hard drive noise.. can anybody try it and see if it does make your system sound better ? i placed mine at 16000kb.
