XBA-C10: Sony's Colorful, Low-Priced BA
YMMV, but I had no trouble wearing them over-ear. The 'loop' on the housing is just small enough for my ears to not cause any discomfort, or limit insertion depth. I've never listened to the A161, but I just had these arrive in the mail alongside a pair of XBA-40s. - A few notes after...- KillaTofu

Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
I'm not sure when AccessoryJack updates their weekly deals, but they have the 1R on sale this week for $230 (from ~$247 iirc), which isn't bad for anyone looking for the silver variant.- KillaTofu

There's a good chance the MH1C deal is safe, but after scrolling down to the product description I don't want to risk a bait and switch, even if it may be a typo:- KillaTofu

sony mdr1rbt, parrot zik or Logitech ue 9000
Quote: It's worth noting that the 1RBT does not need to be powered on to function when you're using the 3.5mm cable (I should note that one is included in the box). Through the cable, the 1RBT behaves just like any other headphone with a detachable cable, which also means it has no...- KillaTofu

sony mdr1rbt, parrot zik or Logitech ue 9000
If you are willing to try and place a backorder on the 1RBT, Cost Central has them for $240-ish. The process may be a bit of a hassle (I ordered with the site claiming it had 1 left in stock, had to call them to place it on backorder) but that is where I got my pair from. Make sure you don't...- KillaTofu

Quote: The discounted price at the time ($164.89) and the current used price ($165.69) appear quite similar, but they were indeed sold brand-new at $165 during that period according to the site.- KillaTofu

Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
Anyone concerned about pricing will be glad to know the 1R black is now $189 on Amazon, and the 1RNC at $315, probably as a result of price-matching Macmall's sale. My 1RBT is on order, and after trying the 1R at Sony Style, I can't wait for them to arrive - my HD25s have annihilated my skull.- KillaTofu

Just a heads-up, despite AccessoryJack's fair price: The 1R (black) is now $237.99 on Amazon. Also, the 1RBT is $240.47 + shipping at Cost Central!- KillaTofu

DiRT Racing Series
You won't find a true simulator in any of the releases, as the physics were not made to be ultra-realistic (don't get me wrong, they aren't Ridge Racer-crazy, and they improve quite a lot with each release), and there is a minimal amount of tinkering you can do with the cars, but the games are...- KillaTofu

Audio Technica, ATH EW9's
Considering you won't be doing any strenuous activities and isolation doesn't seem to be too much of a concern, I'd say the EW9 is right up your alley. Yamaha EPH-100
This is my first write-up, and my impressions mirror a lot of what's been said, but here goes nothing - note: I am currently at about 30 hours of burn-in, alternating between Laptop's headphone-out and USB DAC to Headstage Arrow 3G. Snatched a pair of these only after hearing about...- KillaTofu

Pictures Of Your Portable Rig (part XV)
Quote: It all started with a purchase of the EM7s, and now I think I have a few too many... While they don't isolate too well, and I find them at bit lacking in bass, they are amazingly comfortable on my ears. It also doesn't hurt that they are beautifully-made.- KillaTofu

J3 Cable doesn't connect...
No worries! I was in a state of panic before I came to the same realization. The J3's connector is the most stubborn connection (that wasn't flipped in the right direction) of any device I've had to date!- KillaTofu

J3 Cable doesn't connect...
I had the same issue with mine when I first got my J3: The connection port is a bit of a 'tight fit' when you first try it, requiring you to really force the plug in. The seemingly-loose fit is because the last bit before you get the connection is where the difficult part is. All you...- KillaTofu

Tenso forwarding services
I used Tenso to ship a pair of FX700s from Amazon Japan. Hopefully the shipping services make another attempt to deliver your...- KillaTofu
