Plugging sub port
Yeah that's what I'm aiming for. EQ won't do it right as it's the port bouncing off the walls in the corner that's making it sound muddy and boomy. As long as it won't damage the sub/driver then I'll stick with the tea towel trick.- amraam

Plugging sub port
Hi all, I've moved in with the girlfriend and the walls are thin plaster board. The house is quite small so the sub for my PC has had to go between the wall and my desk, with about 2" in between on each side. This has killed the accoustics, which realistically, I'm not that fussed about...- amraam

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Thanks all. Ordered it last night, should be here today. I ordered it to my work and I've just been told it'll be here this evening :/ I finish at 3:30 and it could be any time before 9PM :( The only reason I'm ordering a new card really, is because my only free PCI slot is directly...- amraam

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Hi all, Before I spend £95 on the Zx, can I check it's a suitable move? It's time to retire my XFi Fatal1ty PCI card. I'm currently on an SLI setup and the PCI soundcard is right next to the PCIE GPU causing it to overheat under load. I don't have any high end equipment - my speakers are...- amraam

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
Quote: Cool, think I'll pop back in and purchase that :) I got my X10is (even though I have an android phone) for £131 at Richer Sounds. Even cheaper than Amazon, and obviously without the added postage cost :) Quote: I too use PowerAmp, it's great. How...- amraam

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
Quote: It makes it sound better to me, but I tend to lower the preamp a little if I detect any clipping. I'm not boosting or attenuating by much however; only a couple of dB tops. With the X10s, I've boosted the very high freqs a little, and attenuated the 500-2000hz range a little- amraam

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
Clever! Just shows my naivety to all of this. I thought EQs were done after the conversion to analogue! So what's the correct way to do all of this? Leave the phone app on flat with no boosts, at 100% and adjust the treble/bass/gain on the Fiio? Or EQ it on the phone app until it sounds...- amraam

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
Can confirm it works with my Note2. However I'm a little confused? The audio app EQ changes the sound when going over USB to the E07K. Why is this? I thought the DAC was just reading a digital signal of the files?- amraam

Do all in ear headphones amplify the sound of rustling from the wires?
Essentially all wires plugged directly to your ears will carry microphonics, but some can hide it more than others. A twisted or braided cable will produce hardly any noticeable cable noise. 'Earthing' the noise by clipping the cable to your shirt will help also. Depends very much...- amraam

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
Quote: Thanks mate, now the proud owner of a set. Can't say I'm blown away by them, but the treble and mids are certainly a lot better than the bundled samsung IEMs. Given 50 hours of burn in and coupled with a Fiio E07K they will be amazing. I can tell that I'm going to have to be...- amraam

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
Awesome! I'll get some today! Edit: just rang richer sounds. They have one set left, now sitting with my name on them :D How long is the warranty on them? The only thing I'm concerned about is the build quality.- amraam

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
For the other Brits on here besides myself, amazon.co.uk have them at £99.99, or £132 for the X10i version. I'm tempted to spend the little extra (I got a £100 amazon vouch for xmas) so I can use the line controls when not using the amp. I run android so only the middle button will work, but...- amraam

klipsch x10 vs Monster Turbine
I would really appreciate that personally. The only thing stopping me from ordering them now (aside from the price of course) are the reports of their poor build quality.- amraam

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
Would I be daft in going for this plan? I'm thinking of getting some decent IEMs without the inline controls. Maybe X10s or similar as I've been harping on about them for over two years now, but never gotten around to buying them! Obviously inline controls won't work with the Andes, so I'll...- amraam

Glad I searched here before ordering an E7! Goona ask Santa for an E07K I think :) I'm actually surprised by quality of the bundled IEMs that come with the Note2. Using them with poweramp, and to my none audiophile ears, they actually sound pretty alright! Plenty of base, just not loads...- amraam

Thanks. yeah I'm not bothered about the mic, I always take my earphones out to answer the call - I hate talking when I can't hear myself, always end up shouting lol. It's the controls that I want so I don't have to keep taking my phone out of my pocket.- amraam
