Just got this, very satisfying low and upper mid (female vocal) though not without slight coloration and very slight hint of sibilance, nice clarity though but upper high is a bit recessed for my liking (this is very subjective and I reckon most people will be fine or even prefer this kind)...

Velour usually accentuate high and release bass, mean less of them, I think some people here have tried using HP100 with DT velour pad and found it to be like that. I'm still waiting for those hifiman's velour pleather pad... Oh wait, they're already available on the website...

Try using the wide tips, if that's not enough then I suggest looking for another IEM. I personally am waiting for high enhanced version of KC06 from Ostry (hopefully they're making them).

Nope, I meant for the se215, im50, re400 and re600 bunch. Mid is a bit too laid back and treble too dark for me personally and the fitting, oh boy the fitting.

It's a demo unit, they actually have X5 too but I was pressed on time when I visited them today and didn't get to try it, maybe later.

Heard Kc06 and tenore via dx90 today (amazing player!), it only help me further away from ever buying tenore. :p Also heard se215, im50, re400 and re600. I Iike IM50 best out of the bunch but the fitting is nightmarish.

What's the difference between double padding and stock? Won't that muffle the sound?

Yeah it really depend on preference, there's a reason why many people loves Grado house sound. ;)

From my phone, tenore is smoother, less midbassy, less peaky, have better soundstage, also less in your face/intimate due to better soundstage and overall better timbre than Re400.

I just thought that bringing KC06A's tips bear no meaning to KC06's current tips selection. Oh well. The color. :P Some of the very first batch of KC06 has bass problem, since gold come awhile after the first batch it's guaranteed to have no such problem however since you got later batch...
