FAS and Paracletus are in my top10 records. I try to listen to them only occasionally so the chance of momorizing the songs wouldn't be too high. It would take away the magik!

Diablo - Silvër Horizon   I think this is a good new Finnish Album! It's a scifi concept album after a few years' break in recording. Good stuff!

Thanks for reminding about the A Forest Of Stars album! I listened to it once when I got it and decided it was a more cohesive album than the previous and the forgot about it for some reason >.<   On Myrkur, I kind of like it. The EP was pretty fine too.

Oh yes! This is so much better on vinyl than the mp3 download that came with it. You guys should have a taste of this too! Rooting for the Finns a bit here, ofc.

It could be that it just needs more time. Maybe I shouldn't downtalk Opeth anyways :3 But right now I'd much rather listen to Still Life or BWP.

On the new Opeth Deliverance/Damnation on LP, Damnation sounds fine to me. Deliverance, as I remember it from CD (I don't have it) this feels like less engaging. It's a good thing there's now more sides to flip so it feels more bite-sized in parts and not a colossal block. The record really...

About the barrier on vocals, personally they just snuck in on me. I found really honest and beautiful music which happened to have screams on it. Think of them just as an instrument like the others (I don't know how to listen to the actual lyrics. Not in my native language either, worth a...

It's good they added 16/88.2kHz for those who need it. The power fix too, even if the problem is rare.

Director's Cut is great.   I remember going to the library @ maybe 15 years of age on my back, one of the first times I borrowed CDs from there. I got Delirium Cordia, Meshuggah's Catch-33 and Tool's Lateralus. I'm still on this same road.

She is indeed. The album has this pirate/folk feel to it. And her voice, you just sing along! The songs have some repeating chord progression quirks which make them maybe a bit predictable. That might be a signature of Arjen Lucassen (the Ayreon guy) who wrote them. I haven't listened...

I'd like to think you are going back to basics. With experience, you know which parts aren't really needed   Please, someone, tell Tuomas from Nightwish to look at Redcarmoose's process. The new record didn't speak to me personally at all. Tuomas doesn't have 30 years between records to spare...

I can get behind "Cyber Grados"    Funnily enough, I like them. I'm usually really sensitive to anything that aggrevates my tinnitus but HD700 seem not to do that. They're quite pleasant to my ears. They are possibly the most comfortable phones I've tried.

Thanks for the Haken and Leviathan info guys! Haken sounds so fresh. I usually don't like prog when it's too fiddly and Haken's EP is kind of on the fence but manages to be really pretty and long enough to count as an album almost    I wonder if Leviathan's album will have a separate vinyl...

Keep at it. If I had to pick albums to go on a deserted island, I'd pick Scott's Tilt and The Drift first! Bish Bosch I'm not familiar with yet. It's so disgusting at times that I haven't had time to listen to it too many times. Yet. Soused is promising but a bit more tame compared to the three...

If the speed of the platter fluctuates you hear it as a pitch change(higher speed, higher pitch and vice versa). It can be really nauseating. Many of the rips you can get online show this clearly.

I have HE560, which is pretty similar to 500 and there's no way around it, theyre glorious. Neutral. I think I've listened to most of the Grado models and imo with their house sound they are somewhat one-trick ponies.   RS1 are really light to wear and really airy sounding headphone. I sat...

I think Pale communion is great. Heritage, not so much  Angry metal guy said well (about Watershed and Heritage) what I didn't know how to put into words: lazy compositions. Watershed was just kinda good but something was off. There were good moments but mostly, to me, it felt like they were...

    = HiFiMAN HE-560 Impressions & Discussion Thread =

I the comments they talk about this (Ctrl-F planar)    "--The Hifiman planars have a fairly flat impedance curve with frequency (unlike dynamic and especially balanced armature headphones). With a low distortion high impedance solid state amp with a higher output impedance, like say the FiiO...
