BIG numbers!!!!
I just heard that the galaxies are more or less eveanly distributed around the universe at 500,000,000 light year intervals! For those who haven't done the math recently, one light year (in round numbers) is 9,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles. That means our next door neighbor (galaxy-wise)...- knestle

I ordered parts for my PIMETA from Mouser. They bacordered the BUF634P's until January 24, 2005! MisterX rescued me (what a prince!). I e-mailed Mouser on 10/28/04 to cancel the backorder. On 10/29/04 Mouser e-mailed me that the backordered BUF643's had been shipped?!?! Rather than muck...- knestle

Front Panel Express/Designer question
Is there a difference between a 'blind hole' and a 'cavity'? I'm thinking a blind hole might have a ninty-degree junction between side and bottom, where a cavity might have a radiused junction. Yes? No? WWAC(why would anyone care)? Somebody please ask a question I can answer. I wanna...- knestle

Can someone help me find a power switch?
I have a RatShack mini-toggle in my PIMETA/Hammond panel. It's functional, but it looks like crap(IMHO). I want either: A pushbutton ON-OFF switch, very low profile (like a button in a chrome ring, NOT a long stalk sticking up with a button on top). I've found dozens of momentary...- knestle

Are you a Pro, a Hobbiest, or a One Timer
I'm just wondering what the percentages are in this group. How would you classify yourself? 1. Professional: Actually making a living (or at least a decent profit) from the DIY(?) scene. 2. Hobbiest: Long term involvment with electronics and multiple builds/projects. 3. One Timer...- knestle

My PIMETA project: good news - bad news
I finally bagan to assemble my PIMETA today. The good news: The soldering went better than anticipated(much faster and easier than my cmoy, maybe its just practice). The bad news: With all the small parts and sockets on the board I opened the package containing my op-amps, only to find...- knestle

?Mounting the Panasonic pot on the PIMETA board?
I just got a PIMETA board and am playing around with the pieces I have on hand while waiting for more parts to arrive. Question: Is the Panasonic pot supposed to mount flush against the board? I've applied as much pressure as I think is safe, but I am unable to get the bottom of the pot...- knestle

One channel ER4 / E5C ???
Hi guys, I couldn't think of a proper title for this post. I'm deaf in one ear (an infection a few years ago), so two channel headphones are a waste for me. With the current cheapie earbuds I'm using, I just clipped off the left cord. I was thinking of buying some better quality...- knestle

Is there a six pin plug connector to fit the Panasonic EVJ-C20?
I got enough problems just soldering pins/wires into holes. I don't need the frustration of trying to solder wires to tiny/closely-spaced pins. Does anyone know of a plugin socket/connector that will fit the six pins of the Panasonic EVJ-C20? The pins on this are not standard PCB spacing...- knestle

Upgrades to a basic cmoy amp
Hi, Guys, I'm the new kid on the block. I'm 62, semi-retired, deaf in one ear (it's a monophonic world for me), totally ignorant in the area of electronics, and about to start my first ever electronics project. I'm collecting parts for a cmoy amp in the little Hammond enclosure. My...- knestle
