    Bowers & Wilkins PI7

When I was unable to sync the left and right earbuds from the same set (see a few pages back), there did not seem to be any way to flash/reprogram them to re-sync once the connection between the two was broken, so I doubt there is any workaround for using a left and a right from different sets...

    Bowers & Wilkins PI7

Unfortunately, the PI7s never started working again. I was able to reproduce the same problem with listings for each piece from my desktop's PC menu. I think it it still clear there's a problem even though the page isn't in English. The bottom "Bowers & Wil" is the second earbud. It sometimes...

    Bowers & Wilkins PI7

Thanks for the reply. This is with both out of the case. It doesn't always show up that way, but often does. Since the (i) button is the way to get to the screen where you can disconnect or forget the device, the only way to disconnect the second instance is by turning off Bluetooth completely...

    Bowers & Wilkins PI7

I have had these for about 10 days now, and I love the sound, especially when using aptX HD over the BT-W3. Unfortunately, the earphones are also driving me crazy. A few days ago I experienced something strange during my commute where the connection to my iPhone would drop and return about...

Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones

I think the isolation from being over-ears will keep me happier with the P7, but to get the P5 portability with anything like P7 sound quality... wow.

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

Thinking about changing tips on my Ortofons. I know the Sony EP-EX10M used to fit.   What are the current equivalent of the Sony EP-EX10M hybrids that would fit on the e-Q5? Is it just EP-EX11M? Would the EP-EXN50M fit too? Thanks.

Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones

I'm almost certain to pick up the P7 later this month, but I'm looking forward to what people on this thread think of the relationship between the P7 and the new P5 Series 2 update! (http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Headphones/Headphones/Headphones/P5-Series-2.html)   For my own part I expected...

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

I am certainly not an expert when it comes to IEMs, but the sounds of the Etymotics and the Ortofons are sufficiently distinct that I'm surprised to see an implication that their markets overlap. I thought it was a given that the Ortofons are warmer than the Etys. Some people like warmer...

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

I have been noticing an improvement in the bass lately... but I suppose it is probably my ears finally getting used to these, and not actual burn-in.

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

Quote: Quote: Just as far as the housing goes: I don't think I was one of the people who claimed that the e-Q5s were smaller. However, I found it difficult to get a seal wearing the e-Q7s down because of their V shape, and it's not a problem at all for me with the straight e-Q5s. I...

Review by 'Dekimasu' on item 'Ortofon e-Q5'

This "moving armature" descendant of the Ortofon e-Q7 makes no sacrifices in terms of quality, despite being introduced at a more affordable price point. The introduction of a new cord and strain relief system help tame microphonics and make the model easy to wear both down and over the ear. The...

GRADO GR10: Reviews, First Impressions Thread

Quote: I found the Final Audios (A1 and SB) to be quite different from the Ortofons and Grados, but the Ortofons and Grados were similar enough that I'd agree with that. If I already had the GR8 or e-Q7 I probably wouldn't have gotten the e-Q5.

Free Final Audio Design Earbuds With Purchase?

I've heard that they are different, soundwise, from the Piano Forte II. Not having listened to them, I'm not sure what the specific differences are, although the magazine+Piano Forte is 2000 yen and the Piano Forte II are generally going for around 3000 yen.

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

I'll try some different ones next time. This was my first time to actually see the DBA-02 on sale, and they were 23800 yen (=$290). The e-Q5 were 17900, the e-Q7 19900.   So that probably explains that.   Quote:

Final Audio's new FI-BA-SB and FI-BA-A1 balanced armature earphones

Darn. If I had ever gotten a proper seal with these I'd be able to tell you, as I did a lot of testing with Radiohead tracks. But if you're moving from TF10s then you'll definitely love the styling of either of them.   Buying in Japan, they should definitely give you a chance to listen...

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

Everyone has their own tastes, but after listening to these and the DBA-02 I find I can't understand why the DBA-02 is so popular here. Are the Fischers less expensive than the Ortofons abroad?

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

Quote: This was my first time getting to put the e-Q5 in my ears, but I've had quite a bit of time with the e-Q7 in general. I didn't feel that there were any significant differences between the two. That's not to say that they were exactly the same, but it's like looking at two...

    Best comfort/isolation for $250? - custom TF10, Westone 2?

Audio-Technica CK10 are small, as are the Grado GR-8. And both are light and comfortable, and in your price range.   To a large extent, what you can sleep on comfortably depends on how big your ears are...

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

In half an hour--Christmas in Japan--I'll have my new e-Q5s (17900 yen). They were sitting right between the Grado GR-10 (33800 yen) and the e-Q7 (19900 yen) when I tried them out, and in the end I really thought they sounded the best of the three. Much easier to get a good seal than with the...

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

The best price I've seen for these is 18400 yen, which is about $220. So under $250 should be doable.

    Ortofon e-Q5 Impressions Thread

I'm surprised there's been so little interest in this thread compared to the one on the GR-10, especially considering how much less expensive the e-Q5 are.
