Doesn't increased clarity often cause "perceived" brightness? For me a simple USB connection always sounds softer "darker." Unless it's really noisy/jittery in which case it can sound dark + edgy, due to reduced air and added glare. Though this was much worse in the old days of early XMOS...

Any thoughts on just replacing the battery with an LT3045 regulator set to 8.2V? Then just hooking it up to a 9V LPS via a DC jack mod? Would this be a viable option?

To be fair I don't hear glare from my ESS based Tone Board, which is warmer sounding due to its softer presentation. Comparatively the D90 has a slight downward sloping response and is more focused/clean/spacious... leaning to the raw R2R side not the over-sampled digital side. I hope that...

My NOS tubes are still humming after about 60 hours. I was about to attempt the fitz mod, but I'd rather give this ago instead. I just can't quite make out the "virtual zero point" wiring. Is there a more detailed description on how to do that?

Can any X-Sabre Pro owners help with the following? I have two amps, one for speakers and the other for headphones. Can I use the single ended and balanced outputs at the same time? And if so, can the XLR's be wired single ended? As both amps are single ended. Thanks.

You can wire XLR for single ended or balanced.

I decided to rewire my XLR's for balanced. Direct driving speakers, this has helped flesh out the sound better. Glad I read your post regarding this, a nice improvement.:beerchug:

So I made some XLR to speaker cables. They are solid core, so are a bit awkward to route. Before I had the TT2 I tried this with the Hugo2 with limited success. The TT2 is much more capable, adding density and warmth to the Hugo2's colour and sparkle. It's pretty good with bad recordings...

Can anyone confirm if this behavior is normal? When the display is activated (like changing volume), my TT2 emits a high pitch tonal noise. (From the TT2 itself, not through the headphones) It stops as soon as the display goes dark. If I turn DIM mode on (low light), the noise is made briefly...
