    JM Audio Editions XTC Headphones

That's a good idea. My opens have a beryllium driver and near scalpel tuning. Maybe Biowool would be complimentary?

    JM Audio Editions XTC Headphones

I may have missed it in this thread, but I was wondering if anyone has compared the original XTC Open vs the XTC2 Open? I bought the original open and John did an excellent job tuning it. However after listening to it for several weeks, I sent them back to add more bass. They sound great, but I...

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

Thanks for all the info. The cable I received with my OG Utopia is from Lavricable and I like it. The adapter seems to be well made, so I'll just stick with it

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

I have a question about effectiveness using a cable adapter. I'm using a balanced 4.4mm balanced cable for my Utopia with an adapter that goes from 4.4mm balanced end to an XLR balanced end. This so I can use it balanced from a Woo WA22 amp. What I'm wondering about is whether the sound quality...

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I don't have the TC, but the Diana Phi sounds great on my Woo WA22 tube amp.

    Sky Audio Cables

I just received my 3rd cable from Reece for my Diana Phi. It's silver plated and the color matches the coffee Diana perfectly. I think I may hear some improved clarity, but the main reason I like them is the flexible cable with the sleeve all the way up to the cups. Reece had some extra long...

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I just received a new cable from Skyaudio. It's silver plated wire terminated with XLR. So far I hear a little more clarity? Mostly I prefer the flexibility, color and the sleeve up to the cups. This is my 3rd cable from Reece. His quality and price are fantastic! BTW, they sound amazing...

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Can anyone describe the comfort with Dekoni pads and glasses? With the Diana pads, I do not get a good seal at all with glasses on. TIA

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

The gap is 1mm. The difference is that the gap is all the way around compared to several ports . I listened to more music and I don't think I am lacking for more bass with the small washers.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I thought it was subtle when compared without, but I'm still waiting to try different music. I'll probably try ported pads at some point though.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I would like to try the ported pads, but the price is a little high to experiment. For $8, the improvement is pretty good. I'm going to listen to more music to confirm.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I just received washers to allow a gap for increased bass. At first I tried the 5X2 size as suggested, but they fall off too easy. The smallest size, 3X1, stay on better and provide a small gap that increases the bass enough to where it's more enjoyable than without. I have a new silver plated...

    JM Audio Editions XTC Headphones

Just curious if anyone has heard and can give an impression of the XTC 1.0 (original) and the newer 2.0 version? I have the original with beryllium drivers and would like to know if the 2nd version is better or just different.

    ZMF Verite Open

I received the Caldera Ultra Perf pads after Zach suggested them when I posted that I could use more high frequency emphasis. Before I was using the Universal pads which had the best comfort. Now I'm happy with the Ultra Perf's comfort and high frequencies.

I've been reading about the bass ported rings. Can they be purchased separately, and how are they used?

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I just ordered the zipped ones that Spawn300z suggested from Amazon. They should be here this weekend, so I'll give them a try. Thanks for the suggestions!

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

What size zipped pad did you use? The Diana band is 1 1/2", and they offer one that width. Do you think that will fit properly?

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

It looks good, but I noticed it doesn't extend the whole length. Do you find that makes any difference?

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Thanks for the Amazon link. I don't think I want to glue anything, but the zippered pad looks like it may work. The Beautiful Audio pads look great, but a bit expensive at $100.

I'm the second owner, but don't know how old it is. It does have the Vivid op amps installed.
