iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
Another issue I've noticed is this thing has very little ability to realistically run long on idle or standbye. Play time aside, if I ever leave it on standbye (nothing playing, screen off) it still runs Hot and drains te battery very fast. 50% battery drained in 4 hours, nothing playing or even...- Vonsamhain

FLAC
Quote: This is interesting. I notice a huge difference in any genre from flac (1000+kps) vs mp3 (320kps). I think it would be gear dependent, but indie rock should be quite improved. It might be more complex then genre.- Vonsamhain

iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
Quote: that being said, the other "+" a can say is that I never expected the DX100 to run my LCD2's with any authority. I was wrong, it actually does a moderately decent job (even at my headsplitting volumes). IT distorts much lower volume then I'd like BUT it sounds pretty good for a...- Vonsamhain

Quote: No, not happy with the software at all. So many bugs (even fresh stock software loaded). I'm not looking for apple polished, but basic things should be addressed. The sound is great, the usability is really too rough this far in the game for iBasso.- Vonsamhain

iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
I actually got to laugh at this point. I did a little experimenting and disnt realize their is not only a 2nd player completely but one plays the tracks in completely reverse order of the other player. I checked 10 albums and they play mirror image orders.- Vonsamhain

iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
That's because the flac files are generally create IN order but if a smaller one finishes before another then it puts it there. My point being the software doesn't use track numbers at all. It guesses based on the time and date created. That's not a bug, it's a lack of effort. Having over 1tb...- Vonsamhain

iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
So are you guys saying all your tracks play in order? Because I looked at the way that the software is written and it sorts tracks by date created and not track number, or even an option to. I know quite a number or musicians who order their songs on an album in an order for a reason. Intro is...- Vonsamhain

V-MODA VAMP: DEVELOPMENT/REVIEWS/PICS/ETC
V-Moda should send me one of these for trial to compare to the Dx100 option I just got. Then when I write my in depth review they can justify the "write off" in extra sales, becasue Im guessing functionality wise it stomps all over the Dx100. That software is horrid.- Vonsamhain

REVIEW: The Headstage Arrow HE portable amplifier
Good review. The only point I disagree with is the view on cross feed. The point of cross feed is to have music sound as intended for recording. Most are recorded for speaker setups where you are supposed to hear a mix of left and right in both ears. Through headphones this does not translate...- Vonsamhain

Need some Head-Fi help here. Looking for a SS amp between $500 and $1000 for various Cans
Well, I think the reason I was looking in that price range, and possibly making it a DAC / Amp combo is that Im looking into possibly adding a high end headphone (HD800/T1/Audeze) in the near future.- Vonsamhain

Newb needs some advice on a "Slim" Headphone amp to pair with Iphone 4 and se530s+HD595's
Title says it. Im looking for a slim design headphone amp to piggyback with my iPhone. Basically something similar in size to the phone. Mostly to run my Shure se530 (got them for 125 bucks, so dont laugh) IEM's and also occasionally my Sein HD595's. Im in the market for new cans too, but that...- Vonsamhain
