Topping DX7 - DAC and balanced headphone amplifier
Does the DX7s have a mode where the XLR line out is on fixed volume and the volume knob controls the headphone out only? I'd be running it into a monitor controller and would prefer fixed line out. Neither the manual nor any of the previous 18 pages were 100% clear about this.- Xandr

The wire is AWG26 and OD is about 0.8mm. The whole braid fits just about into 550 Paracord.- Xandr

DIY Cable Gallery!!
I gave my new Hakko FX-888D a spin and made a 4-pin XLR to 1/4" TRS adapter. You think the braiding is presentable? First time ever doing an 8 wire braid...- Xandr

Desktop amp (+DAC?) recommendation for use between a Scarlett 6i6 and K7XX/DT770 Pro 250
I "downgraded" from a Avid Pro Tools | Duet to a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 to get more Ins/Outs. While I haven't really noticed any downgrade in quality (some people will disagree, but I think for my use the Scarlett and its mic preamps and converters are more than adequate) the headphone amps in...- Xandr

UE TF10 user needs closed can suggestion for office use
I'm looking for a pair of closed circumaural cans that are comfortable even when wearing them for the better part of a 10 hour shift and have a sound signature that's not too different from my UE TF10. I will be using them during work - chat-based customer support - where the TF10 are not...- Xandr

In the UK and want my UE Triple fi10s re-molded... any suggestions?
I second that request for an alternative in the UK since my tf10 sound great but don't really fit my ears. Fisher Hearing seems to be a good (non-UK) choice but I read somewhere that they charge $70 for international shipping which would almost double the cost and kind of puts me off.- Xandr

Messenger Bag.... Fi!
Quote: That's probably because they have different product lines for Europe and USA/Canada/Australia/Asia. Try a online store in Europe that ships to the states?- Xandr

Ear Plugs
I now have my second pair of Musician's Earplugs from ER and I think they are the best thing that I ever bought for my ears. I don't leave the house without them in my pocket and wear them whenever it's loud(er). Might get you some strange looks from others but I think not having that annoying...- Xandr

Rate the video games you're currently playing
World of Warcraft: 10/10 - Well, I'm addicted to that crap - what else can I say? Plants vs. Zombies: 7.5/10 - Great time killer that keeps me from doing the important stuff StarCraft: 5/10 - I thought that I should have played the old one before tomorrows release of SC2, but the...- Xandr

Hearing loss
Hearing loss doesn't have to be permanent. It depends on the cause of the hearing loss. I for example had an infection (a so-called erysipelas) in my leg some weeks ago and the whole “shock” to the body with the fever and all that caused a temporary hearing loss for me that has almost gone...- Xandr

Messenger Bag.... Fi!
I just bought myself a new bag, a Crumpler Cheesy Chick in the colour as shown on the pictures, called Roadkill Red. Fits my 13.3" Macbook Pro perfectly and the notebook pouch is removable for the little bit of extra space on the occasions where you don't need the computer.- Xandr
