Hi james444, wondering if you've listened to the TD100 (or you just don't like it)? Had a chance to listen to the N1 for a few minutes today. Comparing the 2, with no external amp and no eq, the impression I got was the TD100's soundstage is significantly wider than the N1.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'm happy with the E005's functionality. Bigger space would be nice, but I'm used to changing the contents every week. My main motivation for upgrading will be SQ. Have you heard the E005 before toughnut?

I've had the Sony NW-E005 2GB that I've been using since 2006. Still going strong, and it doesn't look like it'll ever die. I'm satisfied with the SQ because I don't know any better, but when I read discussions on best player here, it's not even in the conversation, which tempts me to look at...
