Last night, I put my macbook pro to sleep with my HD650s plugged in. This morning, I booted up my laptop with the HD650s plugged in, and for some reason, no sound is coming out of the right earpiece. I checked on other audio devices around the house and the right ear is silent on those as well...

I'm upgrading from my PC to a Macbook Pro. That also means I'm going to be going from my 0404 to whatever sound chip the Macbook Pro uses. My question is, will there be a noticeable step down in quality or not? I'm using a HD650 + Headsave amp.

well, I RMA'd the card and it turned out it was the card that was the problem. Creative sent me a brand new card and it worked perfectly the first install. So if anyone has a similar problem, call Creative and RMA that sucker!

Well I recently purchased a 0404. Will I notice a big difference in sound quality from my old Sound Blaster Live 5.1, and if so, in which parts of the sound? Or is the sound difference between the two cards negligble? I'm running a HD650 with a custom amp designed by norm.

Ditch the EX71's, the EX81s are out! WAY more balanced sound. Do a search.

Which would you choose to put in your amplifier? This is for a Senn HD650, I have a different amp for my grados.
