I think the problem you'll run into is, although you may find a site that has more active discussion on portable players, they won't be geared towards getting good sound specifically like this board.

I have the 60s and 225s. The sound is very similar, with the 225s being more refined, detailed, and musical. I think it's worth the money over the 60s, but it's definitely a unchanging Grado house sound, considering the two headphones look basically the same.

Why constrict yourself to one or the other? I think you would get more enjoyment in terms of diminishing returns by building two rigs that do both well, instead of just one that does it really well.
