    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Hello Joker, Thanks for the nice work and informative Multi IEM review. When possible could you test out the XBA-40 with the tips below, I think these are Re0/Zero black tips. Having these tips on I found the XBA40 sounds as good or better than EX1000. (Amped with arrow 4G) XBA40 has EX1000...

Headstage Arrow HE: Reviews, Impressions, Perceptions & Sensations

To my setup, the C5 has more bass quantity than 4G, therefore it does not work well with XBA40 sub woofer. The 4G is clearly better than C5 in terms of music presentation, details and defined bass, and  C5 is darker when ABed with 4G, however I found C5 worked with RE262/272 better. So it is...

Headstage Arrow HE: Reviews, Impressions, Perceptions & Sensations

I think the paypal issue has helped you there. C5 is a better amp if your preference is bass quantity and power ( I sold my C5 because I got too much bass when matched it with XBA40/HM602, I found C5 is better for RE262/272). I then got a 4G from Robert, the Arrow has better synergy with my...

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]

    Quote: I have T3D that is considered comparable to E11, XBA-40 + C5 (SQ = crystal clear/smooth presentation) is far better than XBA-40 + T3D(SQ = low is muddy with recessed Mid/high)

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]

The headdirect pic is not quite clear I could be wrong, I took the pic of my tips here, from memory it could be from REZero/RE0 stocks: (image missing)   It is best that you test with this tips first to see any improvements before getting the C5, I have also tested XBA40 with other silicon...

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]

Moving from EX1000 to XBA40, I first also found that the XBA40 has been too picky with sources like other headfiers have reported. After 2 weeks using it I was about to offload the 40s but decided to test it one last time with "audionewbi"’s C5. Having experiments with different tips for...

    [REVIEW] XBA-3 VS XBA-30 VS XBA-40

Try this ebay seller link Also after 50h+ burns-in, I found the 40s sound more smooth, improved timbre with minimal mid and high hats sibilance (XBA40 with silicon tips / HM602, using Sony supplied hybrid I could not pick up the mid and high hats sibilance).

    [REVIEW] XBA-3 VS XBA-30 VS XBA-40

Quote: Chengsta is correct that XBA-40 sounds much better with other silicon tips, as with my EX1000 the supplied hybrid tips did not bring out the best sound from these phones. I have tried many types and found the best ones are silicon replacement tips. I am using the replacement...

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

Try to ask your aunt if she is able to complete the shipping details that are same as billing, and make sure the billing address is of US (your relative) address. Some US company system is avoiding credit card scam by auto declining transaction having overseas billing address even though the...

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

Quote: Have you you tried EX1000 with head direct bi flange tips? Recently I have realized that EX1000 has not produced clear and smooth Mid-High range so I have tried Head direct tips and found that mini bi flange tips are excellent compared to every Sony supplied stocks, EX1000 sound...

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

oh, Sorry to hear that EX1000 does not fit you well ( or your ears do fit the EX1000, just kidding!). Agreed. I also found that FX700 is still better than EX1000 in term of natural and realistic sound, its timbre is still exceptional and much more than EX1000 especially at low volume.

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

Quote: In all EX spare tips I found only LL size works best. Besides the good seal (lucky me!) the sound is as near FX700 at low volume on HM602, Some of the tips make the EX1000 sound sibilant and fatigue (some with flat mid and missing treble so if volume is increased then it is fatigue...

    JVC-Victor HA-FX700 vs Audio-Technica ATH-CK10 vs HiFiMan RE272

FX700 is more musical and better presentation than RE272, with tons of quality bass and timbre. IMO, it is excellent for classic and not too noisy musics. At high volume I found its top mid a bit sibilant with some musics and low bit rate source. If you want a bit less bass( 8/10 of FX700) but...

    SE535 for rock/metal?

Quote: Totally agreed with lee730. After more than 100 hours burn in, FX700 is much more smooth with the high being less sibilant, while the sound is amazing at  low volume with full body, texture low, mid, high however at high volume it is getting a bit in your face especially with low...

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

FX100 does benefit from burn in(heavily), I got it 2weeks ago, before 40 hours burn in I decided to sell it off, it has been no match to even Re0 but hold off the sale because of heavy shipping cost from Aust. Well since I got it then patiently waited after 100th hour burn in then try again. Now...

    Hifiman RE272: Review

Thanks for the feedback kostalex, I also found that stock double flange tips (with proper seating/fit) would give more balanced low/high but hate the trouble of insertion, reverse the L/R channels and over the ears wearing. Wish the the tips have convenience of wearing like Sony hybrid but sound...

    HM-602 Portable Music Preorder

For me, I think there is an issue with my HM602 amp (some filter capacitors???) that this noise is heard when I test the Re Zero with it. Dont know what is the difference between RE262 and REZero except ReZro has 16 ohms, may be these type of IEMs cause the HM602 amp to go out of wacks. (No...

    REVIEW: HiFiman HM-601

Quote: As shigzeo said, HM601 is very identical to HM602, Hm601 has little more bass (just) but Hm602 has little more high and you should be able to hear these when using fully burned in RE262. IMO the HM602/RE262 pakage has been a better deal than Hm601/RE ZERo. Either way both are...
