what is better than the se215 nowadays
This, someone who actually read the original posters requirement for a dynamic. Although I myself would buy the Starfield and save the £80 over the ER2XR.- bigjim

TDK IE800 Dual High-Performance Dynamic Micro-Drivers IEM
I agree, I had a set of these for a very short while and they aren't tuned to my liking. Piercing treble and that's coming from someone who loves Grado and Beyers.- bigjim

Help me decide - DAP
Just buy an LG Phone that has the Quad DAC and be done with it. Ultimately nobody has been able to prove that the dedicated DACs sound any better, obviously as long as you don't need massive power. Oh, and I'm not talking about using it as a phone, just use it as a Dap, more features, thinner...- bigjim

best earphones for £200ish available in uk
Who knows, I wasn't interested in waiting. Ref those other ones, I am unsure, as we know the Chinese tend to put so many IEMs out, it's typically sheer fluke that they present something well rounded. Just buy them and have Amazon deliver them tomorrow, you can then update and thank me!- bigjim

Get the Pro to future proof yourself, the shipping will cost a bit so just bite the bullet and pay the 38! Remember you could be £200 down with some overpriced IEMs haha.- bigjim

best earphones for £200ish available in uk
Meizu Hifi Pro or Tempotec Sonata HD Pro, much of a muchness. The Meizu is on Hifigo with expedited shipping to UK. You could get something for sale in the UK, e.g. iFi or Audioquest, but they aren't as clean a signal, and also cost a lot more so stay clear. Also, it has been said that if the...- bigjim

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread
Exactly what I was going to write, but he did say it was the seal, but then it wasn't, they were just cold. Hmmmm. The Blons are what I would call bassy, pushed back a little, but sound glorious nonetheless.- bigjim

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread
The reviewers yes are generally full of something that begins with S, however in the case of the Blons the reviewers are absolutely spot on. They sound wonderful, yeah the nozzels are a little short, just use different tips, they are so cheap for what they deliver, experiment.- bigjim

best earphones for £200ish available in uk
Having owned and also do own many monitors in this price range, my advice to you is as follows: Buy the KZ ZS10 Pro on Amazon for £40 and smile at both the music they reproduce and also the money you saved. Seriously, they are that good and the only reason they don't score higher on the reviews...- bigjim

Hidizs Sonata HD DAC cable - new tiny and mighty DAC&
Nice review. Mine is on its way (damn this Covid Snail Mail) can't wait to get it. I also have the Meizu Hifi Pro en route too, so it will be good to compare the two (battery drain via OTG to Android). My thoughts are the Tempotec will be easier on the battery.- bigjim

Recommendations for something like BL-03 but w/o boosted bass?
I'll second the KZ ZS10 Pro, I do prefer that to my Blons, the Bass is certainly more defined and accurate and as others have said, little more treble. But, they can't beat the mids on the Blon so perhaps just EQ the mid bass down a bit on your Blons and buy some expensive steak with the money...- bigjim

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread
I hope they just continue putting out reasonably priced single DDs, the 03's to me sound far better than IE800, Pinnacle P1, all final E series etc, so I can only imagine how good they might start sounding in future with a bit of R and D. I think the only difference with Blon and other...- bigjim

Hey, there certainly was animosity, but I think we've covered that. Good lord, that's a big post. Ok, I've not trashed anything, I've said I posted a few weeks ago because of the nature of members posts on this specific thread. I'm glad I did, because your reply above just shows how pent up you are about this. Nobody trashes Schiit products, they measure them...- bigjim

Of course, I've demo'd Hugo 1, Hugo 2, Rega DAC, Arcam DACs, Audiolab MDac, obviously the portable ones I have now including a couple of Ibassos, the SMSL I use as my desktop rig into an Atom etc. So really anything from £50 up to circa £2k. I can't say any have effected tone whatsoever, but...- bigjim

I hope your not pointing this at me. You seem to like to have a little dig or a sarcastic comment Scott. Hey, something the size of a matchbox but measures on par (well much better but let's not open that can of worms again) with your Dac..... Well let's see, Hidisz S8, E1DA, Meizu Dac (pro) etc. All of them will produce a cleaner signal, and as such, more of a high fidelity signal. In terms of...- bigjim

I'll make this quick. As you can see I joined a long time ago, I dip in and out the reviews on pretty much purely headphones, not paying too much interest in kit. However for the past year I have been reading the ASR forum and really do like the way it is so different to here. Because of Covid...- bigjim

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
Hey everyone. Ok, thought I would share my thoughts on the MH751, decided as I am in the UK to pick one of these up instead of a 'Version 2 Pro 82', primarily on the basis they used the new V2 drivers. Had a good listen last night and they aren't up to the V1 (2.2m Cable) standard, noticeably...- bigjim

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
Just received mine from Amazon UK, £53. Literally only half an hour and for convenience I simply plugged it into my AK JR, initial thoughts are.... this is how things are meant to sound. Simple as that, realism, amazing detail, note decay is so accurate you can almost picture the sound waves...- bigjim
