It doesn't output 5.1 it only outputs stereo.

don't connect to my tv and receiver too often but I noticed that I can only output stereo now when I used to be able to output 5.1. I used to be able to get 5.1 when I had Windows 7 but it doesn't seem to work on Windows 8. Anybody else experience this? Got any ideas? I have a Onkyo 605 receiver...

I didn't know it worked on borderlands 2. I just changed it. Dishonored uses Wwise. Most UE games seem to use that or xaudio2 now a days.

You can edit tags before you rip the cd? Do you not know how to do it? Press alt+m to review the different meta data providers and you can choose one of those or manually change it. You can also double click the name of the song and it'll let you change it.

It's hit or miss. The new muse and the deftones albums have good masters. The linkin park albums are the same as the cd's.

I bought it on HD Tracks and it seems to have a better master than the cd release. Great album so far.

  That's the single of Madness on Amazon MP3 on the top. And the 96/24 FLAC on the bottom. The single and album version might be different. Also when I stream it on Zune or Spotify and I check the peak meter on the windows volume control it stays maxed out and the end of the song.

The HD FLAC version has a different master so it has more dynamic sound and doens't clip compared to the MP3 or CD versions.

Is 5.1 pcm limited to hdmi and if so why?

It obviously won't sound as good as cd quality or flac. It'll sound decent though.

Everything on the iTunes store is 256kbps AAC.
