Non portable Headphone amplifier Kit for H650
Thank you everyone for your great answers, and sorry for replying so late... So I'm pretty confused, should I get a DAC or do you think it's really not necesary? I'm not exactly trying to go louder but to improve my listening experience, basically. Should I rather invest in a portable or...- Camomille

Non portable Headphone amplifier Kit for H650
What's the difference between the crack thing and the regular option for this amp?? I basically use the following setup (you may laugh since I have very few idea of what I'm doing ahah): It seems difficult to find, any idea of where I could eventually find a second hand one? How hard are...- Camomille

Non portable Headphone amplifier Kit for H650
Thanks for your prompt, detailed answer ProtegeManiac I forgot to mention that I have an older version of the Arrow (the 4T/4N), is your assertion still relevant in this case? Why specifically the Corda Rock, is there something special about it? (I'm really inexperienced so I may ask naive...- Camomille

Non portable Headphone amplifier Kit for H650
Hello there, I've been using my HD650 with a portable amp (Headstage Arrow) for a few years now and I'm currently planning on investing in a more serious headphone amp' to improve my listening experience. So firstly: is it even relevant to invest more? Maybe the Arrow already provides the best...- Camomille

Soldering my marshall cans jack.
Hey MindsMirror, I covered the first plug with hotglue and electrical tape, it worked fine thank you! I'm now waiting for the 4 pole plug for the 2nd headphones. Do you know where I am supposed to solder the wire of the remote button?- Camomille

Soldering my marshall cans jack.
ERRATUM: there is a sound controller on the wire so I'm guessing the 4th wire is for that. Where should I solder it?- Camomille

Soldering my marshall cans jack.
OK I'm getting there, I managed to ear some sound, BUT it's still very sketchy. If you move a little bit, the sound crackles, stop on one or both ears. It's not stable at all. Maybe because I need to isolate the wires between them?- Camomille

Soldering my marshall cans jack.
It doesn't have a mic, so I guess there 2 are grounds. Ok since I have no idea where the colors go, I tried on another, simpler headphones. 2 golden ground, red and blue wires. I'm doing a very poor job (it's my first time!), I tried to solder but the metal keep slipping on the wires, making it...- Camomille

Soldering my marshall cans jack.
Hi everyone, I hope this is not a repost, I tried to look up on the forum but didn't find anything relevant. Here's my issue: I'm trying to solder the 4 wires I found in the cable of the cans to a new jack I bought. Problem is, I have no idea where these wires should be soldered. There...- Camomille

Problem: No music coming from my itunes through my DAC...
Hey Syan! I managed! What I had forgotten to do is, in quicktime, select "headphones" in the output device (which is actually in the windows panel...). Now the music comes out through my cans! Thanks a lot!- Camomille

Problem: No music coming from my itunes through my DAC...
I thought your DAC thing was a DAC cable, but it seems like not only cables can be DAC... Here is what I have: http://www.headphonia.com/Accessory/USB-DAC-Cable-with-35mm-Mini-Plug-75cm-30::10134.html?XTCsid=2122881ef0898c9be4b8108c697a509e I also have a little portable amp, the...- Camomille

Youtube video saying earphones are ripoff.
This guy just states the obvious, I don't see what's outrageous. It's always good to be reminded how swindled we get sometimes. And it's expandable to every markets: clothes, shoes, hi-tech, food, etc etc. The cool brand will always cost you an eye and an arm, it's marketing. And if you're...- Camomille

A reccurent hassle: cable faulty connection
Hello, Yeah, I guess I'm the only responsible... I just can't believe It's possible to be that unlucky. The cable I have is kind of "rolled" (see the picture), so it makes even more weight that bends the jack. I have to find a solution such as putting this "rolled end cable" in my pocket...- Camomille

A reccurent hassle: cable faulty connection
Well I've been thinking about my involvement in this issue, but I really can't see where it can come from. When I don't use it, I always make sure that I put no strain on the jack. When I use it, I make sure that the weight of the cable (it's rolled) doesn't bend it. I take all the precautions...- Camomille

A reccurent hassle: cable faulty connection
Ever since I bought my first cans almost 5 years ago, I've had the same issue, again and again, and I'm absolutely fed up with it. Every, everytime, a faulty connection would appear on the "jack" end of the cable. As a result, only one earcup would be supplied with electricity, only one would...- Camomille

Portable Amp to run a HD650
Hey, Thank you for the informations and review (Golden Monkey). I just had a little talk with Mediaorge (he started the Headstage thread) and he told me that this piece of plastic will surely drive the 650 properly (he gave it a try himself). I'm amazed and relieved, this item is blessing...- Camomille

Portable Amp to run a HD650
Lisa III is way to expensive for me. I can't spread 600$ for a portable amp, unless you strongly advice me to. The Headstage Arrow, Ibasso Toucan and P4 look nice, but I still don't know which one's going to run my HD650 the best... erf. Noone here ever successfully ran those cans on a portable amp?- Camomille
