Be happy with what you got, sooner or later Sony will release DMP-Z1 replacement. I was never a fan of the AKM chip used in it, people over hyped it. DMP-Z1 is a great little DAP, but considering how old it is, buying second hand means if anything happens, Sony might not be able to repair it...

Perpetua is the only iem I will never thinking of selling, or even touching anything on it. I trier the Celeste cable, it changed the sound too much. Don't sell your PPT, you will regret it.

Probably my least favourite feature is the dsd upsampling. It just way too smooth. I don't know exactly what is going with Sony DSD upsampling, but it makes the sound dull.

Another good iem that perfectly portrays Sony DSP mastery is Dita Perpetua. The driver is able to display their effect effortlessly.

I like R8ii more but n8ii has that amazing I2S and the tube, with the right IEM can enable an enjoyable musical experience. If I had funds, I would buy the FIR RN5 customs for it, I really like how that sounded with N8ii.

It's a special DAP for sure. Ignoring its lack of gapless playback, and and no search function, it is very special DAP. I use it the same way I use a cassette player, I organize my files for east accessing and only keep very special albums on it.
