Audio-Technica W Series Headphones Replacement Earpads Issue

I was advised by the Parts Department at Audio Technica, USA, that they do not have replacement earpads for these headphones. I assume that this might also apply to other Audio Technica series. Third party manufacturers also do not seem to carry replacement earpads for the W series. This is a...

Does Re-Cabling Work with the K702s?

In the Main Forum, someone has stated that because the K702s are single-ended, that re-cabling them doesn't accomplish anything, i.e. compared to rewiring everything in the K701s. True or False?

Any Interest in a Thread on Classical Pianists & Recordings?

It doesn't seem like many people on Head-Fi listen primarily to classical music - at least looking through this and the headphones threads. If anyone has an interest in this subject though, I know I would enjoy participating and exchanging views on the subject with others around the world.

Worst Classical Piano Concerto Performance You Have Heard Recently

Lang Lang (Deutsche Grammophon) - Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 1, Daniel Barenboim and the Chicago Symphony Very disjointed and uneven tempo IMO. Compare it to Rudolph Serkin's performance of the two Mendelssohn Piano Concertos with Eugene Ormandy conducting.

Most Exciting Performance - Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1

My Vote & Personal Benchmark: Vladimir Horowitz & Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra (1943) in a live performance, released by RCA in 1959. Notes: I believe the concert was being used to raise U.S. War Bonds, and of course Horowitz was Toscanini's son-in-law.

Manufacturers Setting Prices for Retailers - Is it Legal?

I am surprised this has not come up prominently in Forum threads, as it is an important issue for consumers. Without naming specific manufacturers, why isn't this, when it can be proven, considered to be an anti-trust violation in the U.S.? If some manufacturers are in fact threatening...

DAC to Match RSA Raptor or HR-2 & Macbook Pro

I am a new member to the Forum and to headphone audiophile discussions, so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place or if my question is a stupid one! What is a good DAC to go with the Raptor or HR-2 and Sennheiser HD650s? I am comfortable spending $1,000 on a DAC if the...
