All of 'Kind of Blue' by Miles Davis sounds fantastic on my K601. The production quality is excellent, with perfect imagery, clarity, and enough sparkle. I can't find the right words to describe properly.

Tried some grados today actually, the SR125i and SR325i. The SR125i sounded like garbage, the SR325i sounded fantastic. While a do like the 325i, it's out of my price range, and they're just not comfortable. Really considering the K271 though.

I like the resolution and airiness of the K601, I guess the only things I really dislike about the K601 is that is has to be hooked up to an amp, and it's not in any way portable. I'm looking for something mobile, open or closed is fine, but I would prefer open.

Okay, so I recently sold my SRH440, and because of that, I'm interested in getting new pair of headphones, so this is a suggestions thread. If it helps for suggestions, I also own the K601, and I'm really enjoying the AKG sound. I'm looking to get something in the $100-200 range...

re-branded 450s perhaps? wouldn't be surprised if skullcandy sold a $99 set (HFi 450) for $150 (as Sk pros).

I see Sony V7506, Equation Audio RP21, Sony V600, and sennheiser HD202s, every day at school A Teacher happens to use the V7506's.

The Equation Audio RP-21 sound warm to me. They're closed full sizes, and can be found for around $89-100 Isolation is pretty good, and there's a fun quantity of bass, although the highs sound rolled off. Could potentially be remedied by using different pads.

I will tell you that I've read that the XB300 is very much inferior to the XB500 and XB700. Dunno about the HD205

buy HD555's instead. Then mod them to be close to 595's. Spend the money saved on whatever you want

If he really likes an extremely large quantity of bass then the XB700s (or 500s) should be just fine.

Assuming that you like bass, the M50s seem to be the better choice according to this chart. For 300 the Beats simply aren't worth it. Also, noise cancellation is silly.

Interesting. Should also work with the stock 440s and obviously, 440s with 840 pads. I may even try it.
