Looking for new speaker / monitor setup for my pc
Hello CoUg4r KRK's are probably your best bet. KRK generally produces for professional settings, so they'll probably last you and they're certainly up to standard in quality. The Pioneer's are a nice choice, but like Tablix said the main issue would be the inputs. The reason you'll want...- DomaPhone

Ultimate DIY: the 3.5mm 1/8" mini jack plug collection thread
My mini-xlr cable for AKG K240's got bent out of shape recently, and I'm gonna need a new one. Are these a viable alternative? http://tinyurl.com/loxv56y- DomaPhone

Upgrade from Sennheiser HD25-1 II
There really is no upgrade for a Sennheiser HD25 unless you're willing to greatly exceed your budget, as someone else said. Recently I felt the need to add to my headphone collection, because my HD25's were kind of unfulfilling in some ways. I picked up a pair of AKG K240STUDIOs, which...- DomaPhone

HD 25-1 II are superb.
I listen primarily to electronic, classical, and some other odd songs, and I would confidently say the HD25's are the safest pair of headphones you can buy on the market. They're apparently very versatile and sound good with just about anything. But they're very punchy to me, and the highs...- DomaPhone

Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ
So right now I'm using Sennheiser HD25 1 II's and an Audio 2 DJ to listen to music (I also have an NAD shelf amp, but I'm not too concerned with that). What I would like to know is how Grado SR80's and 60's would sound on an Audio 2 DJ, which does rather condition the music and add a lot of...- DomaPhone

I think I've decided on my headphone/amp combo for electronic music... a little advice real quick please?
This is a rather arbitrary suggestion, but I'm presently interested in generally the same kind of sound, and I'm looking at Gary's PA2V2 amp and I presently own Sennheiser HD25 1 II's. The amp is $60 and I got the Senns for $160, though they usually go for about $200. But someone more...- DomaPhone

AIAIAI TMA-1
Quote: Yeah I guess I kinda did, but even then, my mood could change. Plus, I've decided to give these a year and then see how they play out. On top of that still, I already have HD25's, which, I have convinced myself, are the most versatile headphones on the market excluding the TMA's...- DomaPhone

^Thanks for that, Kern Right now I'm just trying to decide if I want these or the Allen & Heath Xone:XD-53's. The 53's are DJ phones, whereas the TMA's seem like more versatile phones, including for DJing.- DomaPhone

AKG K99 or K240STUDIO?
Ah, I see. I'm very used to cheap. "EXTREME BASS" $25-40 headphones, and the Sony MDR-V500's and Sennheiser HD25's were my first "professional" pairs of headphones. At this point, I'm either just going to settle one of the AKG's or move upwards and fight with myself over the Allen & Heath...- DomaPhone

AKG K99 or K240STUDIO?
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD25 1 II right now, and my powerers are a Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ and an NAD 3225PE amp. I'm looking for a pair of good, big headphones for fun, easy, perhaps stupid listening. I can listen to high quality stuff with the Senns, but I also want something to...- DomaPhone

Cool, thanks for the replies. I'm gonna sell a couple pairs of headphones I have right now (Senn HD25s and Sony MDRV500) and spend that on the TMA-1's. However, I'm debating whether I should get the TMA1's or the Allen & Heath XD-53's.- DomaPhone

AKG K240STUDIO in terms of flexibility
acix, I'll be using the HD25's and K240's for different things, but I will check out a pair at my local university, and I'll definitely look up those headphones.- DomaPhone

AKG K240STUDIO in terms of flexibility
@tdockweiler: thanks for the review, I appreciate it. And yeah, the K240's seem like a good choice here. I have a NAD 3225PE amp and an Audio 2 DJ from native instruments, so I'll be using the K240's at home and the HD25's on the move, probably. However I will probably use them interchangeably...- DomaPhone

AKG K240STUDIO in terms of flexibility
I'm sorry for not posting very much on the forum anymore. I'll be more active in the coming months. More importantly; I'm looking to buy headphones about in the 100USD area, and I've become fixed on these. I want something with which I could enjoy definitely electronic music. Right now I...- DomaPhone

How do I convince people that audio cables DO NOT make a difference
Electrons do not travel at any kind of speed. They do not exist in every place between point A and B; they simply appear at point B. This is one reason why we DO NOT understand electrons. But the bottom line is, the cord hardly means anything. The reason a cord usually seems to come in two wires...- DomaPhone

My very first headphones... ATH-M50 vs HD25 vs HDJ-2000?
HD25's are really more "trooper" headphones. They are very high quality, but they're better at just getting the job done right, lasting forever, and it's hard to overdrive them. The latest HD25 model, the 1 II's, are designed primarily to be DJ headphones, so they're made to have good sound...- DomaPhone

HD 25-1II review, yeah, another one
Great review, and I'm glad someone else reviewed it, because I'm a little too biased on the subject. I've listened to a lot of headphones and I've recently picked up the flagship AKG's and a Burson amp, and I still really like the HD25's for what they are. I'll go ahead and recommend them to...- DomaPhone
