    Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

Heh, I definitely misjudged how well my LCD-3 would hold its value. Must be the allure of the PF? Pretty sure I saw other LCD-3's that were listed for around $700 and weren't seeing any interest, so I figured I had to offer a much better price. Can't believe how much interest I got in that...

Comment by 'dsticker' on listing 'Audeze LCD-3 pre-fazor w/ carbon fiber headband and leather-free ear pads'

Well I got my asking price, so I can't complain (even if I want to, lol). And the person I sold it to is a long-time Head-Fier so I'm pretty sure he's a wholesome individual. :innocent:

LOL, I definitely underpriced this headphone. I was bombarded by like 15 offers in 15 minutes. Can't believe it. Oh well, live and learn. :)

    Tekton Design Speakers

Oh nice, those look incredible and I'm sure they sound even better than they look. $15k though, damn! Well at least you didn't go with the Ulfberhts; I think the Yamaha's were a much better decision.

Great pic! I can confirm you're right about the DI, and I'm sure the Ulfberht being the flagship is at the top. I can't imagine two of those in a room this size. Overkill would be an understatement. smodtactical must've been kidding. That pic makes me think my DI's are puny little speakers...

I know I'm replying to a very old post but I've been away a while. 12x16x8 feet?!? For the Ulfberhts? I have a pair of Double Impacts driven by a Parasound Halo Integrated amp in a room of the same size and they're overkill. Although I love them, they really need a bigger room to be fully...

Review: RIVA Turbo X High Performance Premium Mobile Bluetooth Speaker – Plus Headquarters Tour

Show of hands...  Who has a stand for their Turbo X?   I carry mine around all over the house and can't imagine buying a $90/2 = $45 stand for this (or any) portable bluetooth speaker.

    New Audeze LCD3

Thanks!  I guess I was blind.  I scrolled down far enough on the Accessories page to see "LCD Headbands", clicked that, and only found the lambskin and leather-free ones.  If I had scrolled down a little further on the Accessories page, I would have found it.

    New Audeze LCD3

Stupid question, but where is the carbon fiber headband for sale?  No luck on the Audeze website, unless I'm blind.  I read something about there being a manufacturing defect in the original production run of the headband and they would offer it for sale again when the defect had been fixed.

    New Audeze LCD3

Interesting post.  Just out of curiosity, when you had your "YES!" moment, was it with a fazored LCD-3?  You seem like the type of person who shares my taste for sonic signature.  I love my pre-fazor LCD-3 and all of its warm, dark goodness.  While I haven't heard any of the fazored LCD-3s, I...

    New Audeze LCD3

(knock on wood) I've had my LCD-3s (pre-fazor) since Jan. '12.  Fingers crossed they'll hang in there for many more years, since I don't think I'd like the fazor sound as much.

    The Leben CS300XS Thread

You make an excellent point, ardilla.  I always wanted to try the Leben with speakers, and on several occasions I was almost ready to purchase a pair of Zu Audio speakers.  If I had speakers to accompany the Leben and my LCD3's, I probably wouldn't sell it.   And you're also right about making...

Just wanted to clarify that I did engage in tube rolling (I'm including 24 tubes in addition to the 6 stock tubes).   I can understand how some people might enjoy tube rolling to find the perfect sound, but for me it was not a fun endeavor.  I was always paranoid that I was going to break...

Review: RIVA Turbo X High Performance Premium Mobile Bluetooth Speaker – Plus Headquarters Tour

I was just able to recreate this issue (at least it's an issue for me, perhaps it's a feature for others).  Here's what I did.   I listened to an entire album on Play Music from my Turbo X paired to my Moto X Pure.  The album ended.  No music was playing.  I closed Play Music.  I turned off my...

Hi riva audio!  Thanks for the quick reply.  And let me be clear, these are all very minor quibbles.  I absolutely love my Turbo X.   1.  I'm rocking a Moto X Pure XT1575 with Android 6.0.  Stock.  Not rooted.   2.  Yep, you're probably right.  I could have sworn that the song Play Music...

Review: RIVA Turbo X High Performance Premium Mobile Bluetooth Speaker – Plus Headquarters Tour

A couple questions about the RIVA app for Android: 1. Is there a way to make the app stop trying to interface with other apps? For example, it interfaces with Google Play Music. So it remembers the last song I was playing when I had the app open. Then I go to work, listen to Play Music, listen...

To be honest, describing sound is very difficult beyond the most basic terms.  Bass, mids, and highs.  Beyond that, it gets very dubious.   http://wathifi.com/   :-)

^ ditto (for headphones)   The HD800 and LCD3 complement each other so well, there really isn't any audio (music or otherwise) that isn't suited to either.

^ Awesome.  I love reading customer service success stories like yours, particularly since I'm a fellow Turbo X buyer.  When I initially read your complaint I thought it was a minor issue of sonic preference.  But upon seeing the response it got and the end result, I'm very impressed.  I look...
