    Flac Conversion to 320kbps mp3?

Sorry for the delayed responses everyone...   Quote:   Chances are FlacSquisher hit a bug that caused the encoding thread to crash. I've fixed a few bugs since the time you posted this, so maybe it'll work now? If not please give me details about the first item it didn't encode.    ...

    Better tagging on Foobar?

Foobar lets you add custom tags; in the Properties window for a file, click Tools, then Add new field. Then you can enter in the field name, and the field value.   Then you can sort or search those values by right-clicking the column header, going to Columns, then More. It lets you set custom...

    M50's making ears sore

My ears can get sore if I wear my M50s too far forward on my head, so the pad is touching the back of my ear. I tend to get a slight headache long before I have any trouble from my ears though.

    LAME/Foobar to convert iTunes mp3.

Yep, take a look at the "Title" column; it's in alphabetical order. You just need a different sorting order.

    Earplugs!

I have a pair of these: EarPro EP-3 Sonic Defenders® Earplugs - EP3 from SureFire Similar idea to the ER20s, but I like the aesthetics, and the structure of the earplug itself, a little more.

    FlacSquisher feedback

Hey all, If I might give a shameless plug to an open-source project for a moment... I wrote FlacSquisher to provide a simple solution for encoding my music to a lossy format after ripping to FLAC, so I could fit more than four albums' worth of music on my 2GB Sansa. It supports Ogg Vorbis...

What's with the sudden M50 craze?

In the past two weeks, there have been at least half a dozen threads asking about headphones to use in an office environment to keep out noise. That's specifically what I bought my M50s for, so in those threads, I give the M50s a good word.

Need help finding a pair of closed headphones for work

I've never had the GMPs, but when I first got my M50s, I had the same complaint; the clamping force was way too tight. Like you, I could only wear them about an hour at a time. After a couple weeks though, I could wear them a full workday at a time. I hope your experience is similar!

If you like closed headphones, the ATH-M50s are excellent value for money, and only a few dollars over your listed budget ($90 or less shipped, if you buy from authorized dealers on ebay). They're circumaural, and the straight-cord version is 11 feet long. I have the coiled version, and it...

    Looking for Closed Cans

My M50s isolate really well, but if you didn't like the neutrality of the 840s, you may not like them... They haven't been mentioned in the thread yet, so I just thought I'd throw them out there. Read some reviews, and see if they look like something you'd buy.

    Vibration Gaming Headset?

I have a vibrating gaming headset made a few years ago that I got from Woot. Mine does what genclaymore guessed; it uses the vibration to accentuate the low frequencies. It's not bad at what it tries to do, and the vibration is adjustable, so it doesn't shake your head till you're dizzy...

Help picking a Closed Headphone for work

I haven't heard any of the others, but the M50 is very good for me as a work headphone. Isolation: It isolates well enough that I had to move my phone, or else I wouldn't hear it ring. Now I can see it ring, so I'm all set on that end. The downside is that co-workers can come into my cube and...

I've been encouraging my friends to rip their CDs in FLAC format, especially after I wrote FlacSquisher. I tell them why I wrote it; so I could listen to my music in its original CD quality when I'm at my computer, and I could encode the music to a lossy format (Ogg in my case) for my Sansa...
