    Nitsch DSHA-3FN / ECP DSHA-3F Impressions

Mine arrived Friday. I was hesitant to order, but when Christian told me it was the last one in this production run, I couldn't resist. I was able to spend a few hours with it last night, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger. It's both liquid and layered, with the blackest background (almost...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Probably depends on your overall ventilation. I finally got a chance last night for an extended session with the MJ3 (three hours), and it ran significantly cooler than my Freya+. Both have their own shelves on my rack.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I had that happen on a piece of silver gear before I went over the Dark Side. Windex and elbow grease worked. I should have noted earlier : I do have spacers between the Loki Max and Urd. Nothing fancy, just something to get a little extra breathing room between them.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

My Urd has lived on top of my Loki Max since I got it. No issues here.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Thank you. Been waiting a while for the MJ3 and the Super Schiit Stack is complete (for now). Fortunately, my wife just looks at the system and shakes her head. Just the occasional, "what does that one do differently?" She's more visual and I'm more audio, so we complement each other well.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Nah, you are right: Black is where it's at. Silver is for remotes. (Apologies for craptacular photo work.)

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Thanks for the further elaboration, Jason. I mean, I'm grabbing one regardless, just figuring out placement for the stack. Sounds like Folkvangr will stay on the top shelf (all the better to see the pretty lights).

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Does the Mjolnir 3 run hotter than Folkvangr? Apologies if I missed an earlier comparison.

    ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)

After three more weeks with the Rockwell Rev 2 (which has been joined recently by a Schiit Folksvangr, because why not?), I finally rolled a NOS 12AX7 into the amp - still haven't touched the NOS Sylvania 6B4Gs that Justin included - and, damn, this Mazda grey plate that a guitar-head buddy...

    ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)

Sorry, I can't help. Let's see if we can get Justin (@ampsandsound) to weigh in.

    ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)

Now that I’ve had the Rockwell Rev. 2 for several weeks, I thought I’d post some more detailed impressions. I don’t think Amps and Sound and Justin get the attention they deserve. This is the second A&S I’ve had (I’m coming from the Pendant SE) and they have both been wonderful. Justin is, as...

    ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)

I don't have the Big Ben, but both A&S amps I do have sound great with the Yggy OG. I love my Morpheus, but I run it with the I2S module paired with the Hermes streamer, so cannot comment on its USB implementation. Have you run your Bifrost 2 in your setup? Assuming it is multibit, BF 2 will...

    ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)

I'm glad to see we are keeping Justin busy. It's been the better part of a decade since I've posted, but recently I've had the privilege of owning a couple of amps from ampsandsound. First, the ZMF-branded Pendant SE, which was amazing in its own right. And, as of today, the Rockwell Rev 2...

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).

Just a quick public "thank you" to Desmond.  I appreciate the follow up email on my purchase (DITA Answer, Truth Edition) and the ear tip suggestions. Good folks making great equipment.  For any fence sitters out there: Buy them.  You wont' regret it.

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

I have both and like both.  I find the IE800 to be a bit more comfortable, with a more microphonic cable and a little more laid back signature.  I find myself using it to listen to jazz and acoustic music most of the time.  The DITA Answer (Truth Edition) is a little more forward in the mids...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Quote:   Be careful what you ask for:   Ok, so I have been able to spend some back-to-back time with the HE500 and the MG6Pro.  The HE500 is, of course, a full-sized, open orthodynamic and the MG6Pro is a dynamic custom i.e.m., which leads to our second caveat (the first being that...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

So, Nezen, I am back home am getting reacclimated to my HE500s. If you are still interested, I can start with a compare/contrast with the MG6pros. I can tell you now that the bass hits harder on the MG6Pros but the MG6Pros do not approach the detail retrieval of the HE500. And if you could shoot...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

I'd be more than happy to, it will be about a week though as I'm stuck in the Deep South of the U.S. for another week before I get to head home. I'll make a note so I don't forget. It should be interesting. I don't spend a lot of time doing critical comparisons - I tend to get lost with whatever...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Quote: No worries.  I don't feel particularly targeted.  But, dang, +7 to 9 db on the bottom end of the GR07?    I, too, enjoy the HE500 very much, but don't feel the need for a bass boost with it (usually).  Unfortunately, I am on the road as much as I am at home so I tend to gravitate...

Westone 4 Impressions and Reviews Thread

Quote:   Yes, it does.  The slight difference in body types of the two iems does not, to me, change the way the removable cable fits up and over the ear.

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Quote:   If the lack of resale on a blind purchase is a significant factor, have you considered getting custom silicone sleeves?  Future Sonics has the Softerwear sleeves (which are very nice), Westone has the UM-56 and I am sure there are several others.  The offerings from FS and...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Quote: Thanks, Kunlun.  I thought that may be the case and am glad to hear it is something to be expected.  I did have to make periodic adjustments at altitude, but I can live with that.  I do think my ears are a little sensitive to pressure differentials - I have to re-equalize...

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Great. Now I will have to find that widget (and the one that probably exists for UPS) so I can yell at the computer if one of my packages stays in one place too long.

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors

Very nice. David sent me an email, but I never did get a tracking number. In hindsight, that just kept me from visiting the tracking site every hour for two days and developing nervous tics from the anticipation. Speaking of, has anyone used these on a plane? If so, what were your experiences...
