Phono-Stage Recommendations
I have a 1984 "The" AR Table with a Rega RB250 arm and a Clear audio Beta Cart currently running to a $50 TCC pre-amp. The setup sounds good but I can't help but think that pre-amp is holding me back. I do not have a budget at this point. I am open to see what you guys think I should spend on...- lozanoa11

A little more bass for a grado lover
I have a pair of Grado Sr325's and they are great! Except I find the jumbo pads much more comfortable and in doing so I think I am over driving them and have blow drivers twice now. This is very frustrating. My only gripe with them is I would like a little more bass but not a lot more...- lozanoa11

Grado recabling problem!
I was attempting to install mono jacks into my grado sr 325's. One went successfully the other not so much. I applied heat to the solder and remove the old wires and then soldered the new wires on and check my connections and there is no continuity between the driver contacts. Removed the wires...- lozanoa11

High capacity and non proprietary
I ordered the Zune HD 32gb before it came out and love it for the most part. But it is now full. I would just get the 64gb but I cannot stand the software. Not only does it tie me to windows, its using 800mb of ram right now and messes with my tags. I hate apple products and the stigma...- lozanoa11

Different universals or Customs?
I have the UE SuperFi 5pros and they sound great to my ears. Much different sound than my Grado's but I like that. I like the impact they have. I like listening to music a different way. But I can't stand to have them in my ears for more than a hour or so. I understand that they are not...- lozanoa11

How long can you wear your customs?
I have the superFi 5pros and like many find the comfort sub par. Even with comply tips they get hard to wear after a few hours. I was thinking of having them reshelled into customs, but was wondering how long you can wear them? It seem weird that a hard plastic could be comfortable even if it...- lozanoa11

Justify an amp?
I am getting the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5pros (and may get them reshelled into customs) and am going to be using them with a zune HD. Most of my reading has shown that most IEM do no need amping. But I have also read of people adding resistance to their headphones to better sound quality. If I...- lozanoa11

Worth it to get cheap customs?
I have wanted to get a good portable setup for a while but do not have a large use for it. I just found out Im going to africa again that includes a 16 hour flight :O, and want something good for that. The custom IEM look very attractive to me but the price is not so attractive. I see some...- lozanoa11

Replace my Zune
Well I recently moved back to Linux, and it does not play well with my Zune HD. I have come to realize that I do not use most of the features of it except playing music. So I was thinking of selling it and getting something else. The Sanza Clip or Fuze seems to be what I need. But I was...- lozanoa11

Where/How do you control your volume?
Im interested to see what you guys do or think is the correct way to fine tune your volume. This is implying you are using a computer as a source. Do you: Leave system volume and media player volume up all the way and adjust only the amp? System volume up all the way set amp and fine tune...- lozanoa11

Grado Driver Replacement
So my 325's are of a unknown age, and on some songs i hear some distortion on some bass just in my right ear. So I am assuming the driver is going out slowly. I was thinking of having the drivers replaced. I was wondering if I could have them put in say RS1 drivers in them? And then possibly...- lozanoa11

HLLY Rebadged Little dot or knock off?
FM transmitter-HLLY Electronics Seen it on ebay also. There is a thread about a DAC/Amp they sell also but thought I would talk about it here. It sees to look just like a MK IV with different tubes. In fact the specs look like they were copy pasted on the site. The changed a few numbers and...- lozanoa11

Little Dot Mk2 vs 3
Ok so I'm pretty much ready to buy a headphone amp now for my 325's. I know tube amps are recommended for grado's and so are the little dot amps. My question is basicly is the Little Dot MKIII worth the extra money over the MKII? What are the big differences? I listen to Rock, classic Rock...- lozanoa11

Jumbo's on sr325
I just got my Jumbo pads for x-mas and OMG. For one they are soooooo much more comfortable than the comfies i had. The bass is stronger I believe. The best part though is it is so much less harsh. Soo much easier to listen to. Mids are clearer and the treble is no longer overwhelming The...- lozanoa11

DAC for surround sound
I have a HTPC that is used for movies almost exclusively. Right now I am using only onboard sound. Eww I know. Do the USB to Optical/coaxial work with 5.1? Or should I just get a sound card for it. It is a low profile case so it limits my choices. Any suggestions for the USB to S/PDIF...- lozanoa11
