Any interest in an Amherst, MA mini-meet? (Western Mass) @ UMASS
I'd also be down for a meet in Western Mass next summer. With any luck, I'll probably be doing research about an hour away from Amherst next year.- DJHK

Recommend a nice beachy warm site for honeymoon
If you want someplace that is a little off the beaten path, I suggest going to Malta. It's an excellent vacation spot: beautiful scenery, good food, low crime, lots of history, great beaches, tons of places to swim/snorkel, english-speaking population, fairly good public transportation. The only...- DJHK

your favourite The Cure album and why
Disintegration, hands down. It may not have all of their greatest songs or even my favorites, but it's simply the best in the way that the songs flow into each other and just take you on this smooth musical voyage that makes you feel all better at the end and ready to face the world again. -
Good Piano Music
Lindy's list has a lot of very good albums, my personal favorites in that list being "Maiden Voyage," "Brilliant Corners," and "Time Out" Got a few more jazz albums to add... Art Tatum - The Tatum Touch Bill Charlap - Written in the Stars Chick Corea - Return to Forever Duke Ellington -... -
Good Christian music?
Delirious?, David Crowder Band, Hillsong United (or any other affiliated Hillsong artists), Shane Bernard, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Starfield, and Switchfoot are also good ones that haven't been mentioned yet. They're not heavy music, but if you like Smalltown Poets, Jars of Clay, Third Day... -
Albums you hated at first, but love now
This happens to me all the time, which is why I usually don't judge a cd's quality until I listen through it several times. The most recent one was Stereolab's Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night. I hated the singer's voice and the strange instruments at first, but it grew... -

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
If you're into Miles, I recommend Kind of Blue and Sketches of Spain, both of which are almost constantly playing in my headphones. If you want a taste of Coltrane, get A Love Supreme or his Live Olatunji Concert recording. Or if you want a more challenging task, try and trace the evolution... -

How do you define HIP-HOP & RAP
I've always interpreted hip-hop is the street culture lifestyle (Four Elements: Emceeing/DJing/Graffiti Writing/Breakdancing), with rap as the musical aspect of it. -
Which Japanese singers are still worth listening ?

Tyrannosaurus Hives
I'd say it's a pretty solid album. It's nothing groundbreaking in terms of themselves or the genre, but the energy is high, the sound is tight, and it's satisfyingly rockin'. I personally liked their last album a bit better, but that might just be because I've begun to slide off the garage... -
FTP Software
Filezilla is another good FTP program. Not as fancy looking as some of the other ones on the market, but it does what it's made for. Fast, free, easy to configure, powerful, NO NAGS.- DJHK

What are you listening to _right now_?
I've been on a personal mission to get back into jazz classics again. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Truly in a class of their own. -
