I'm over the speculation and for us trying to figure what is going on. I think it is about time for CHORD to do an official update on the app state. So @Matt Bartlett can you please give us a straight honest explanation of why the app that was meant to be released last November (chord words)...

As far as I know, Glider achived gapless playback by adopting the MPD protocol, so no DNLA...Joe may be able to confrim this.

By the way, I've forgotten to mention that the current Beta is 1.7.0.9...almost every day theres a new test! ...I wish CHORD were as fast when comes to their GoFigure app...

That's right, 1.7 beta adopted the MPD Protocol: Joe is a genius!...in about a week he pretty much resolved all issues...High res album art, gapless palyback, DSD etc...currently there are some minor bugs but non that affect playback. Glider Music Player 1.7.0 (1.7.0.4) for iOS is ready...

Fair enough jarnopp. You are absolutely right...the issue remains on DLNA and it should be address by CHORD. As I've mentioned before and if you can (iOS user) get yourself the latest Glider app. Joe make it work on MPD and is perfect!....gapless and DSD capabilities.

...Continuing with my "irresponsable" opinion, again go ahead and get yourself one. I used it exactly the way you are planing too, reading from the SD card and Tidal off line via Poly Hotspot when on the go. Adding to that I've also play DSD via Glider (after the amazing job Joe has been doing)...

Bummer! not good.... I've just received my new Luxman L-550AX integrated amp which like the V281 requires to be On in order for the "rec out" to works. So let's say I want to listen to my turntable on headphones through the V281, my option are either switch on the L-550AX to use the rec out...

When not using it as a pre amp, does the Line out (both either XLR or rca) works even when the V281 is turned off?

I've followed the recommendations and honestly there's not much off a difference, at least with the HD800. Instead of setting the volume at comfortable levels between 8 to 9:30, now I'm setting it between 9 to 10:30 with pretty much the same boost in between steps...I guess it doesn't really...

I've counted exactly 40 steps in my basic - no remote - version simply by turning the volume nob.

Interesting, maybe your version is different to mine? I have the basic option, with no remote control ( I like to get up from my seat and turn the volume nob manually...ha) and you can clearly feel the steps when turning the nob, exactly 3 "small stops" in between full hours, ie. From 8 to 9...
