REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
+1 aside from not having noise, the blackness of background is remarkable. The internal supplied power to USB sounds very clean and high quality and gives the impressions it could be powered from low noise LIPO battery like the AUdiophilleo 2 and PurePower I used to have. It's really quite...- Sid-Fi

Hifiman HE-400i and HE-560: From CES to Pre-Launch
The DA8 is indeed very nice with the HE-400. I have been using the pairing almost exclusively for the last couple of weeks. It is very obvious that the 1W powers the HE 400 optimally or at least very close to its full potential since It sounds remarkably alive and engaging. I think there is...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I haven't experienced that at all. Mine has been dead silent using my Hifiman HE-400, JH Audio JH5 custom IEM, and Sennheiser HD 650. Glad you like it but sorry to hear about the noise your getting. Not sure what it is.- Sid-Fi

Yulong A28
No new impressions? I figured there would be a flurry of impressions considering the price point and that it caters to the popular planar magnetic cans.- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
Sounds good. Ill have to take you up on that if I am ever that direction. I'm in Vegas now so feel free to bring them out here if you ever head toward the bright lights for a weekend hehe. Ill keep that in mind about the crack. I might sell the HD 650 but if I don't ill eventually get a tube...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
Sound like all good points from direct experience - thanks. I loved the D18 overall. I am a big fan if its mix of warmth yet still good detail. That being said the Nuforce DAC 100 I think is more open and has more air and separation while still having good detail, although its flavor of being...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
Zashoomin brings up a good point that D18 doesn't have USB so it won't work unless you already have a USB to SPDIF converter, which are pretty expensive. The cheapest decent ones like Musical Fidelity Vlink 192 usually start around $250 with good ones like Audiophilleo 2 costing upward of $600...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I actually have the Nuforce DAC100 and the DA8 in house right now along with my HD 650 so I am very familiar with both pairings. I think the Nuforce DAC 100 is without question the better integrated amp combination with the HD 650 and it isnt very close in my opinion. It has much more power...- Sid-Fi

Yulong A28
Thanks for posting that link. I'm really interested to hear more impressions of how the A28 compares to the DA8 integrated using the DA8 DAC as source with different headphones. I'm trying to decide if I want to stay at DA8 and Hifiman HE-400 combo or add a A28 with it. I know the A28 would...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I just got a brand new pair of Hifiman HE400 in from HeadRoom. Holy cow do they sing with the Yulong DA8 through the integrated amp! And that is right out of the box with zero of the suggested 150 hours for burn in. I know many of you have already commented on the synergy, but wow am I...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I downloaded a free album of live acoustic performances in DSD format from blue coast records called California Audio Show 2012. You just have to register a username name and password. There were more free DSD performances available. I just listened to them for the first time last night, and...- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I got my Yulong DA8 and found the USB implementation to be great just like I was hoping. It's SOO nice having such a clean refined sound straight from USB and finally being able to skip the expensive Converter setup. REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I wonder if Project86 was referring to the original M-stage or the newer version with new opamps that is supposed to be significantly better than the original stock version. I don't recall. Quote:- Sid-Fi

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I have a question for the thread. I just ordered a Yulong DA8 and am very excited to get it. In the near term, I will only have my HD 650 with Moon Audio Silver Dragon cable to use with it and will not have a dedicated amp so I will likely be limited to in the integrated amp in the DA8 for...- Sid-Fi

Yulong's new DA8
I just purchased a Yulong DA8 and am really looking forward to enjoying it. I was a huge fan of the Yulong Sabre D18, and have no doubt that ill love the DA8.
