    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

+1   The Mojo and Grado 1000i's sound amazing -> together they render 3-dimensional space and the human voice with an uncanny natural precision.  The Mojo preserves the spatial cues and the natural quality of the human voice which comes thru the Grados in an almost holographic fashion.  Joe...

Thanks and you're more than welcome...   I can understand why folks might have difficulty accurately assessing the subjective qualities of their audio gear with some digital music sources currently available => specific case in point here: the Weavers song recording I was referring to...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Your comment re audience/performer separation intrigued me and I went back into my library of 192/24bit vinyl "rips" done with a high quality analog front end and Apogee A/D converter [see profile for details].  With the Mojo and Grado GS-1000i's there is a clear spatial separation [layering]...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

I've been digitizing my large vinyl collection for quite a while and comparing the vinyl 'rips' with the same titles on CD or downloaded from various HD sites.  In many cases the rip sounds better than the commercial digital file because the vinyl LP is an "original pressing" made from the...

Just catching up on my 'back issue' reading here :   I agree wholeheatedly re the vinyl rip option -> out of curiosity what kind of equipment did you use to do the DSOM rip?    There are many more variables in that procedure - cartridge, 'table, phono preamp, A/D converter, cables, etc and...

Agree totally - the sound of a digital file is probably more dependent upon the quality of the A/D encoder than the DAC.  I've converted a ton of vinyl with the most recent version of Apogee's Duet 2 A/D using a high quality analog front end and the results are in many cases far better than some...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

I rip vinyl to WAV files using SoundStudio on a Mac and then clean the raw files with Vinyl Cleaner [ http://www.clickrepair.net/ ].   Any editor can do the ripping but Vinyl Cleaner is the key to avoiding a lot of manual labor while removing the nasties.

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

Just finished cleaning a 192/24 bit vinyl rip of Claudio Scimone & I Solisti Veneti - Vivaldi: Mandolin Concerti [Musical Heritage Society 1100 (1980)] using an Apogee Duet 2 and checked the result using the HA-2 for playback.  The rich tonal colors and detail retrieval is impressive -> esp in...

What is, in your opinion, the SMOOTHEST song you can think of?

Mel Torme:  "How Do You Say Auf Wiedersehen" from the album "Top Drawer" with George Shearing on piano. Incredibly smooth vocal intonation & control!
