Mad Dogs vs. SRH 840 vs. DT770 for Rock/Metal.
Hey, how did you end up liking the mad dogs for your music? I've been scouring these parts for some good closed phones for prog/metal/djent/electronic listening. P.S. I don't quite understand what's so faux pas about resurrecting an old thread if there is more good content to add to it...- enthewhite

SE215 chicken or the egg?
I just picked up the Shure SE215, and although I am in no position to review them, I can say they sound great to my ears so far! What I am curious about is the popularity of this model. The se215 is the only model IEM that both of the pro music shops in my area carry. I am interested to know...- enthewhite

Electronic-Prog-Rock-Something?
Okay, first off, thanks for all the suggestions. There is a lot of good stuff in there that I will be looking further into, such as Jon Hassel, Sky Eats Airplane, and Tortoise. I have music from Opeth, OSI, and Mogwai which I enjoy. Having said that, it is still not quite what I am looking for...- enthewhite

Electronic-Prog-Rock-Something?
Ah yes, thanks for your reply! I have heard Ozrics and do like what I've heard so far. I am surprised I forgot to mention them in my post. I like the fusion of rock and electronic with them, but maybe a bit on the jam-band side as opposed to what I am looking for, although I do enjoy their music...- enthewhite

Electronic-Prog-Rock-Something?
Wow, this is great! I have been poking around here lately to research headphones, but didn't realize there is such a wealth of good taste in music too! Anyway, I have been looking for some music lately, but I am not quite sure how to search for it, I guess because I am not even sure if it...- enthewhite

@Pianist What it is the cheapest amp you would recommend using with the m50? I am not about to spend more than what I paid for the headphones on an amp (not because I don't believe it would be worth it, I just don't have that much to spend right now)- enthewhite

Definitely enjoying them already A lot more than my hd 280 pros. I just can't figure out how to get this little spring doohickywobbler back in the end piece. it is larger than the hole i'm sure so it is hard to pull out, but it is harder to put back in.- enthewhite

Thanks for all the replies! I didn't think to ask for a bag when I purchased them. What does the bag protect the headphones from besides dust? I will try to re-attach that spring today, hopefully it just slips inside the end jack.- enthewhite

So would adding a $375 amp to a $150 pair of headphones really improve it that much? To be honest I was hoping to hear that adding one of those altoid tin $20 amps and a lod from my ipod would be a good upgrade, because that is about all I would be willing to buy right now.- enthewhite

DIY iPod LOD
Hello, Does anybody know if taking an ipod dock connector and soldering RCA cables to the line out pins (3 and 4) will be the same as purchasing a pre-made LOD? Ipod lineout qualities
Thanks, Prog Rock Man! So, if I get a line out signal from the ipod 30 pin connector, whether it be from an ibasso, pocketdock, apple universal dock, my own diy connector, etc., it will be exactly the same signal and the only factor influencing sound quality will be the quality of electrical...- enthewhite

Ipod lineout qualities
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the ibasso connectors too. I am wondering if those are going to be effectively the same thing as any line out using the 30pin connector, and how that compares to head phone out, and the imod. From what I have read, it looks like a a normal line out (like the...- enthewhite
