You just need to have a custom HDMI cable that swaps R-L channel.

High and Low has the same sound quality. It just alter the curve of the attenuation. It has no function on the overall gain of the amp.

The word clock is for some DAC that use the ext. word clock as the reference.

Just a guess, Kingwa save the FPGAs for the more pricey DAC than the low cost DI-20.

If FPGA is getting expensive, most of the DAC Kingwa selling will increase price.

I have the problem of setting the ext clock of DI-20HE and R7HE. I have to set them to ext clock every time I power up even though I keep the clock on 7x24. They are by default int. clock and not detecting if an ext clock is present. I wish they could stay on ext clock on power up if ext clock...

I usually do not switch off the clock, because it takes sometime to settle in and reach its optimal working condition. This is based on I listen to my audio gears almost everyday.

That's interesting, the DoP implementation only requires the PCM signal pins. That suppose if PCM works, the DSD signal will ride on PCM formats. Try go through all the setting including in Roon and R26 to see what's missing.

Normally a standard HDMI cable would support both PCM and DSD. Try setting the Roon / Device Setup / DSD Playback Strategy to DSD Over PCM.
