New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
To Whom it May Concern: Though I TOO am more than somewhat skeptical regarding electronic/audio component "break-in", (driver/driver-surrounds MECHANICAL break-in notwithstanding...(and yes, I DO understand that expectation bias sometimes DOES rear its "subjective" head... ;-) ...))...- Synergist969

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
I purchased my Freya within about a year(?) of it first becoming available ...so, it was probably their first iteration...and yes, the tube/balanced mode did/does exhibit significantly greater gain than the passive and JFET modes...(which are for all intents and purposes equal in gain...perhaps...- Synergist969

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
For the last couple/three days, I, as well as Justin at REL have been attempting to contact Schiit Audio regarding compatibility/connection issues between the Ragnarok and REL subwoofers...TYPICALLY, Schiit Audio is relatively prompt regarding responding to e-mail inquiries...however, neither...- Synergist969

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
Dear jcn3: I very much appreciate your prompt response/input, and genuinely hope that there are no little known "quirks" to the "Circlotron" amplifier design/topology/Ranarok that would conflict with your suggestions. I am also hoping to hear from someone from Schiit Audio, be it Jason or...- Synergist969

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
Though I AM aware that this "Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread" has evolved primarily toward the "Tube Rolling" end of things...AND, as such...the Octal LISST's developed/manufactured for the Freya are NOT "Tubes" per se...HOWEVER, I would still love to hear the impressions from...- Synergist969

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
I guess I was a fortune one...my LISST's seem to be OK...though when I thought to remove one right after installing it, it came out without the alignment/center post, so, I guess it is LISST's forever...lol... I concur that relative to the new production Tung Sol's I was using, the LISST's are...- Synergist969

The LISST's get warm/hot to the touch, but certainly no where near the "skin-blistering/frying(?)" temperature of the glass tubes...I did not attempt to measure the temperatures generated by either tube type however...- Synergist969

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
I keep checking within the Schiit Audio website to find a listing as to availability and price of the LISST's for the Freya valves, that one or more fellow HeadFier's had assuredly stated that Schiit Audio was attempting to provide by the end of the 4th quarter of 2017... I have not yet seen...- Synergist969

[ " Hi Namaste - I don't want to divert this Freya-dedicated thread to a cable discussion and incur the ire of the moderators so I will try to be brief. I have found Freya sensitive (a good thing) to interconnect changes...more so than with the tubes I have tried. If you are in the US, get in...- Synergist969

Speaking of resonance control related to tube use and so forth... Dear Nuttinbutair: Yes, I of course agree with your agreement of my "#1" reason...lol...and Yes, I agree that the H.T.F., (or lack thereof with headphone listening, unless the headphone amp. generates/implements a well designed H.T.,R. in the headphone signal path), impacts our perception... -

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
Dear Ghosthouse: When I switch between solid-state/JFET and tube mode, (new production Tung Sols in the gain stage, stock Russian tubes in the buffer stage), I hear minimal/subtle frequency shift, however, I DO hear an appreciable increase in image presentation breadth and depth...- Synergist969
