I have the coiled version of the M-50 too, but it seems that there's only significant bleeding when the cups are open. There's not much bleeding when wearing them or if you have the headphones in a position where the cups cover each other. Try using a thick book or something simulate someone...

I'm more worried about the water and drying messing up the drivers... hope that they really haven't degraded.
