Portapro/Sportapro vs. DT770/80 - frustrating revelation..
*chuckle* This thread is interesting to me since I just bought some DT770/80s not too long ago based on recommendations here. I'm just now learning to appreciate them. I got in my first truly long listening session on the Darth Beyers while writing a 30 page paper I turned in this Monday. My...- Coalescent

Sennheiser HD590 on clearance at Amazon - 129$
Good to see a little HD590 love bein' spread here. I'm one of those people who actually love these 'phones. Very, very natural sounding compared to the Darth Beyers, though the latter can be really fun sometimes, & their isolating capabilities are great for me. -Chad- Coalescent

Rechargeable batteries.
I ordered a couple Plainviews from Norm a week or so ago, and I've been in contact with him about chargers and the like. Some people here might like to know that the Plainviews are apparently fast charge compatible, as he has confirm with Plainview that they will work with the Maha 9.6v...- Coalescent

A Disturbing Behind-the-Gender Leer at DAPs

to pod or not to pod
One happy, satisfied, enthusiastic user of a 4G iPod 20gb here! (Setup: iPod 4G --> SiK DIN line-out --> JMT mini-to-mini cable --> JMT portable PIMETA amp --> HD590s). Good, good stuff. Lots of listening pleasure -Chad- Coalescent

Is there any audiophile sounding DAP?
I can personally attest to the SQ of the iPod through its line-out to an amp. It's really a good, audiophile level source. Not up to some $1000+ CD transport, I'm sure, but for my purposes (and from what I've seen around here, the purposes of many others) it sounds fantastic with lossless files...- Coalescent

Headphones Reconmendation
I for one love my HD590s. They're great for gaming and are relatively forgiving of MP3s, assuming the bitrate is decent. They also don't *need* to be powered by an amp, they can be enjoyed quite well without one, but if you invest a little bit in a low-end amp (like a portable PIMETA or...- Coalescent

iBook/Powerbook users
Hey Guys, I just recently bought a G4 PB 17". I love it! But anyway, I'm looking to use it as one of my portable solutions.
