The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread
Although the Hifiman he-6 and Sony mdr cd1700 have better bass, better highs and mids extension and quality, better details and are by almost all measures technically better headphones, 99% of the time i listen to the hd580. It must be some kind of magic, but only they always put a big smile on...- Angelic

Your favorite headphone for classical music and why.
Sony mdr cd 1700 - wonderful mids, big soundstage ( for a closed hp), general timbre is so correct. With their relaxed nature, they put me easy into concert hall ( as much as hp can do it).- Angelic

Why have more than a few pairs of headphones?
It all depends on usage scenario. When I need headphones as a reference standard/ music / movies , when I want to hear all the frequencies in the movie or music -then i use OG HE-6. But this apply only for home. They are practically unusable outside. When I need phones for everything, outside...- Angelic

Which exact wire OCC or silver you can recommend? I found one on Neotech's website, NECH-3001, but it looks very stiff, probably I am on wrong cable, as I choose the sub-menu for EARPHONE / HEADPHONE CABLE.- Angelic

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
I am still between 2 options: 1st is a MOGAMI 2534 Neglex Quad studio microphone cable, as I read mostly positive review about it, and the second option is ViaBlue™ EPC-4 Silver headphone cable, which looks also fine. Currently I am using silver plated copper custom cable, made by one Russian...- Angelic

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
Good point, the connector's rigidity is also very important. But there is another question: What is the point of using miscellaneous expensive cables (OFC, SPC or pure silver), since the maximum difference that will be heard is that between the various solders and the purity of the alloys used...- Angelic

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
Thank you for an advice. Just checked the specifications, and even these are expensive connectors, there is no pure copper, as : Main conductor: for Furutech: Nonmagnetic Rhodium-plated α (Alpha)Phosphor bronze conductor; for Eidolic - copper alloy (I’m reckoning that would be brass then?) plug...- Angelic

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
I'м planning to make a cable for my HE6 headphones. But while looking for suitable 6.3mm and 3.5mm plugs, I saw that they were mostly made of gold-plated brass, and it's electrical conductivity is many times lower than that of copper or silver. Logically, whenever is quality of copper or even...- Angelic

Sennheiser HD25 Aluminium 25th anniversary edition review
Another happy owner there. Compared to standard hd25, which I still own, definitely more bassy, but there is no "plasticky echo" I used to hear from standard ones. Amazing headphones, hoping to hear their best, just ordered Oyaide shpc-hd25 silver for them.- Angelic
