Any recommendations? I'm thinking about getting a 901, can anyone recommend a small usb device that can output 44.1kHz undisturbed? ADC = not important. Small, bus powered, drivers that don't totally suck, linux compatibility would be nice. Rob

I'm curious if anyone's had/listened to both of these, and/or has any thoughts on how they would compare. Both are 3 source preamps, HD300 has a tape loop, Melos has an extra head out. Melos uses two 6922 tubes (one for each channel?) while HD300 uses 1x 6SN7, 1x 6AS7. Any thoughts? Rob

I have an Ipod Mini + mini dock, and a 3G Ipod + dock, and a Sik Din. For kicks hooked them all up to my preamp (musical fidelity cd-pre-24), and cranked up my speakers (silver 9i's) through some 50w solid state monoblocks (Marantz, .01% thd). I could detect no noticable difference in noise...
