    Apple EarPods Thread

Quote: It could possibly be the type of music I listen to. Mainly vocals.   Remember, this is just my opinion. I personally found the ER4 mids to be better than the SE530. That is what my ears are telling me, despite everybody saying they were the MID kings.   Price doesn't always...

    Apple EarPods Thread

Quote:   Imo, they are similar, Think SE530 bass (though lighter) with etymotic mids and highs. I can hear details as well as the etymotics imo.   I have basically made my earpods my full time earphones now. The only time I've used my etys were when I needed some isolation, and that...

    Apple EarPods Thread

Quote:   Quote:   I just did a 10 min comparison trying to pick up the differences, and basically the earpods have a bit more mid bass. As far as I can tell, sub-bass seems to be better on the Etymotics, but it's hardly noticeable (or maybe my mind is playing games on me!) when...

    Apple EarPods Thread

I prefer these over my Shure Se530s.   My favourite IEMS (the ER4Ps) are getting a run for their money. I find the detail comes very close to the Etymotics.

    Help with Etymotic ER4S/ER4P

Go with the ER4P with the P-S converter cable for the best of both worlds.   I personally use my ER4P in S mode regardless if I'm amping or not. I can't tell the difference with or without amp but since I prefer the sound sig of them in S mode, I use it like this

What are the most comfortable DURABLE sleeves?

Foams from the packet, double flange tips (made by cutting the end flange of the triple flange tip), or klipsch tips are all pretty comfortable

HELP ME CHOOSE THE BEST CUSTOM IEM..!

to ffdpmaggot I'm willing to make you a 50 driver iem for $3k. It might not fit into your ear (since i won't be providing an enclosure), and it might not even work properly(since id just be soldering wires to connect them altogether) , but hey, since it has more drivers than iems like the...

IE8 vs. Monster Turbine Pro Copper/Gold/MD for "Techno"

I personally listen to some techno (and other bass heavy genres) and find the ER4 to be the best out of all the iems ive tried. Many people disagree with me however haha. I love it mainly due to the speed of the ER4s to resolve detail. Bass tended to get heavy with other earphones like the...

Parental issues with the high end headphones?

I had this problem. I convinced them with good grades haha (I'm turning 18 this month) I did buy my etymotics without them knowing though, they let it slide.

I hear no difference personally apart from a higher volume

    Why amp most IEMs? Overkill?

I only "amp" mine since i need a dac (my pico dac amp) to bypass my onboard soundcard on my laptop which is just terrible. If i'm using a portable source like my iphone, i personally don't amp since i can't really tell the difference myself. EDIT: also, its pretty fun bumping using 30Hz...

A fun, overall great sounding IEM with great details, large soundstage, and precise instrument separation? $200 budget

ER4P/s sounds fitting for you. (esp for imaging/separation) Might be a slight downer soundstage wise, but imo, I really can't tell much of a difference with the other top tier universals I've tried (I personally now don't bother with soundstage with IEMs, they are way too limited) . If the...

    Head-Direct RE0 for Trance???

Trance with the ER4 is great. Fast and detailed with deep bass. Just isn't pounding unless you EQ.

    How sensitive are the er4s?

The ER4P/S aren't as sensitive compared to the SE530. I'd say about 20-30% less sensitive

    ER-4S and SE530 "Ideal" Amp

I use both the two phones you use exclusively (se530 and ER4P/S) and they sound great through my Pico amp. Haven't tried anything else though

Moving from Etymotic - where to go? UM3X, W3, SE530?

I personally found the SE530 (with double flange tips) to be similar to the ER4 which is why i kept it. Highs of the SE530 are just smoothed out imo Then again, i havent tried any Westone IEMs.

Which eartip to use with Westone UM3X?

Hello fellow aussie If you have small canals, klipsch gels will fit u really well, cuz they have some of the smallest tips Ive ever seen. Even the Large ones are quite small compared to etymotic tips and stuff. EDIT: I could have sworn it said 01-10-10 lol
