    Getting over iPods

Cowon J3, S9 and I9 are gapless, so the newer cowons should be gapless too.

    Alessandro MS1 Review

Nice review. I have my ms1-i's for one year and I'm addicted to the sound with bowls (l-cush) and the tape mod.

    Grado Fan Club!

MS1i fan here. I love the sound with bowls and the tape mod: airy-open sound, detailed and great punchy bass. They are just awesome for the value.

    Grado SR125i or SR80i?

Quote:   It's really weird. The bass from my ms1i's are far from anemic and other ms1's owners are happy with the bass too. Maybe your ms1i's were different???

    Cowon I7?

I think the I7 is out of production now. His successor is the Iaudio 9.

    Grado SR125i or SR80i?

Quote: My MS1i's has plenty of bass with comfies and bowls (I prefer taped bowls signature althought).

    Is Ogg Vorbis dying?

Quote: You're right, I mistyped the ogg bitrate (175kbps). But even so, ogg-vorbis still gives me 73mb at 192kbps q6.0 vs 78mb with AAC (abr and vbr) at the same bitrate. That saved storage space is valuable for my portable setup (and my entire music library ).

    Is Ogg Vorbis dying?

Quote:   I agree. At the same bit rates, ogg files are smaller than mp3 files and I don't think ogg is dying. Lately I see more people using ogg/vorbis format (not a lot of people, but more than before.) and cowons, sansdisk, samsungs and other players support ogg format.   In my...

Suggestions for my audio gear upgrade

The iaudio 7 would have been perfect for you since the form factor is the same that the iaudio 6 and it had up to 16gb of storage. But I think it's outdated now =( (I loved that player).   The sansa clip or fuze are small and very good sounding players and maybe suit your needs. They play...

    Cowon J3 Impressions Thread

Two weeks with my J3 and no issues at all. It's a great device and the sq is excellent (like my old cowon i7). BTW, the screen quality and colors are really awesome.

I bought a pair of bowl pads for my MS1's. First impressions: more detailed sound but no bass... so I did the tape mod with the bowls and now there is a solid bass with very detailed sound. They are perfect to me now (and the 2-3khz peak were tamed out with this mod). Recommended indeed!

Alessandro Music Series MS1 FAN CLUB!

I received my MS1s two weeks ago and they are truly awesome. A lot of detail on these cans. I just turn down 3dB on the 2.5kHz band from my foobar eq, because certain female voices were a little shrill, but now they are perfect to me .

Should I Get the Cowon D2+ or the IAudio 7?

I7 only for music playback (the screen is too small for videos). D2 for music, video, memory slot and other stuffs. The i7 has great sound quality and great battery life, and definitively NO hiss in my long listening sessions.

Should I Get the Cowon D2 or D2+?

The I7 has excellent sound quality, and the hiss is only present with the stock headphones. I have other headphones and they show no hiss.
