I auditioned mine in a brick-and-mortar shop before purchasing. Some guy was also auditioning speakers. Sounded better at home, when I was alone in my room.   As for the Denons, aren't they closed? Definitely a different sound from your HD595, considering they're open. If you like them...

I think the OP wants noise cancelling, with his "5-hour battery life" detail. Noise cancelling and hi-fi don't really go well together.

I dunno if I worded that right, "use an equalizer with," but the PX200 II's seem very neutral, and I read that neutral phones benefit more from an equalized player.   Also, can anyone recommend a player that has a decent equalizer? I heard that iTunes distorts when you equalize it.
