  4. Audeze LCD-4

Selling my original (3/16/16) set of LCD-4 (revised 200 ohm version). Headphones are in perfect working order and, original pads excepted (see below - but new pads are also included), are cosmetically in excellent condition. There are a couple of small, fine, indentations (not scratches or...

    Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements

My set of CRBN arrived about an hour or so ago. That's 8 weeks and 3 days since placing the order, or 8 weeks from order to shipping. As others have said, the build and finish is gorgeous. I think they're now the lightest headphones I own. Too early to say anything detailed about the sound...

    Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements

Anyone actually received their CRBN yet? Or gotten shipping notification?

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.

It is a bit off the wall. I had two sets (bought the demo set from CanJam as well, #002, before there was a one-per-customer limit, sea-green/blue also posted earlier in the thread). I listed that second set for sale when I retired, since I didn’t need a set for the office. They sold in under...

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.

I’ve been offered (totally unsolicited), $7,500 plus a set of Desert Ironwood Vérité Closed LTD for my stabilized maple burl set (serial #001, purple, posted earlier in the thread) … so getting $6K for a unit in a new batch is probably not outside the realms of reality.

Nice! I'm running a Michell GyroDec/SME V/AT Art-9 in my office/den/cave speaker rig, which is otherwise all Linn Exakt gear. Not sure what table is going in the new/main (dedicated room) speaker setup yet.

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

DAVE has an auto-switching PSU that'll work from 90V to 250V (both AC, obviously) on either 50 or 60Hz systems.

    Audeze LCD-4

I'm sure there'll be a dedicated thread along in a bit, but the CRBN page is up at Audeze's site. Already have my order placed.

    Audeze LCD-4

I believe Sankar "announced" an Audeze electrostatic, compatible with Stax Pro bias (so those with existing electrostatic amplifiers can use them), for around $4,300. Didn't hear a date. No idea if this has anything to do with a potential "LCD-5" either.

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

It was at the time. I imagine it still is, unless something changed with regards to service when Chord changed from using Blue Bird as their Chord distributor.

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Wasn't any big deal for me. I had the USB port fail on my DAVE a few years ago (when I lived in Seattle). I took it back to the dealer, who sent it to George Meyer AV in LA. Start to finish I think it took a week to get it resolved.

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Zero issues with my Blu Mk2/DAVE combination in the last 2 years (which is when I added the Blu Mk2). No drop outs, no distortion, no power on/off issues. Not that this means the same is necessarily true for anyone else. But if it was a systemic issue, rather than a unit-specific one, I'd...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

With DAVE powered on, and with no headphones connected, simultaneously press and hold the left and right menu buttons until you see the mode (shown in the bottom right corner of the display) switch to "Digital pre". It'll stay in that mode unless you change it manually or plug in headphones...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

By definition, then, that's an amplifier that is capable of driving a 0.2 ohm load. Older amplifiers with higher output impedance might well get away with that. Modern amplifiers, or older units, with very low output impedance won't fair so well unless they've been designed from the outset to...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

Said speaker amplifier would also need to be capable of driving a 0.2 ohm load without either tripping its protection (assuming it has any) or going "bang". The interface is there to provide a reasonable load to the amplifier (5.6 ohms) instead of the 0.2 impedance of the raw ribbons, as well...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I'll post any further updates there, then (and maybe on the original thread on AS).

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I'm familiar with the SRC-DX unit (and PGGB's author had mentioned it as well). I tried their Opto-DX product between my M-Scalers (both the HMS and the Blu-Mk2) and DAVE (and Hugo TT 2) a while back and found that yielded no difference that I could perceive. The storage-size reduction using...
  24. HiFiMan HE6SE V2

Selling my like-new HiFiMan HE6SE V2, as I continue to cull my collection and move back to, primarily, speaker-based listening. They are in perfect cosmetic and functional condition, include the original* cable (4-pin XLR) and XLR to 1/4" TRS adapter, and all original packaging. Kept in a...

    The Future Of Sennheiser

Well ... it's been another two weeks ... and still no word from anyone at Sennheiser that can actually move this forward (despite PMs back and forth with the Sennheiser/Head-Fi rep(s) ... so not their fault). So ... I'm officially done with trying to buy an HE 1. Maybe I'll look at them again...
