    JVC RX700 back in stock!

@Olimoronio All the reviews here that say otherwise? You mean yourself and like... 2 others? Good luck with that man. Sure they *might* sound nice, but their quality is downright awful. Go troll somewhere else with your quadruple(lol)posts. Learn to edit. ;)

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

So that they can fall apart a week and a half later? No thank you. I'm glad these are back in stock, perhaps I can finally purchase a pair. @Katun: The thread's title should be updated. :)

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500

Are these really smaller than the AV40s? I find that hard to believe.   They do look quite interesting, however. I'd like to try them out.    Quote:

    M-Audio AV 40 $80 good deal?

Definitely.   Arguably, these are the BEST 2.0 speakers under $150.   I jumped on this deal as well. Unfortunately, it has expired.

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote:   I think I  convinced myself too, haha.   I decided upon a pair of Panasonic RP-HTX7s in white, for $27 shipped from Amazon. I like the retro design, the SQ is on par with the HD201/202 (perhaps slightly better), and they're more portable due to a shorter cord with an...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@Landis: That's an interesting observation about the fit of the Shures. Apparently these are available in most, if not all, Apple stores--so if I do decide to buy them, I can try them out there first.

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@GreenStreak: I'm not a huge fan of the ATH-M50s for a number of reasons, so I'm not considering them.   @SimH: How do you think the 750s compare to the 840s? I don't really need DJ headphones, and I prefer the look of the 840s, but if I could find the 750s for significantly cheaper than...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@classakg: I'd love to audition both, but there really isn't any place nearby area to do so--I live in the suburbs of NYC, in NJ. I could always venture into the city for a day, though...   @1Time: The RX900s are "sort of" closed. I've heard that they don't leak very much, but I haven't had...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote: 'Semi-portable.' Reason being that I would mainly use them inside, in my dorm, and I refuse to buy a second pair for use outside. I wouldn't want to use portable cans indoors, which is where I'll be using these 80% of the time.    And you're right. For a first set of cans...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Ah, cool, thanks. xD   I must say, I myself wasn't a huge fan of the 80i's when I auditioned them. I hated the pads--but, hey, they're Grados.

Shootout: 114 Portable Headphones Reviewed (Xiaomi Mi Headphones added 04/21/2015)

Very good review. An enjoyable read through. I especially like your impressions of the HTX7s, I've heard some very good things about them but reviews are few and far between.    Perhaps you may be interested in reviewing Audio-Technica's SQ5s. You can get them on sale for $60 at Audiocubes...

The BEST full sized headphones for $30 USD or less (updated Nov. 27 2013)?

I find it interesting that OP jumped on the Maxells just because of one man's opinion. A convincing man, I'll admit, but just one man--and one that doesn't take kindly to accusations and finds it hard to backup his claims. Despite the hundreds, if not thousands of satisfied users of the JVCs and...

    JVC RX900: Sound Leakage?

Quote:   Ah, thank you very much. That's quite reassuring. :)   Also I forgot how noisy airplanes really were.

    JVC RX900: Sound Leakage?

Also, would the RX900s be suitable for use on an airplane? With passengers on either side of you?

JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?

Quote:   You may be right. But JVC lists them (RX700s) as OOS and so does Amazon/Buy.com. They are on widespread backorder. Also, they are missing from the "compare headphones" list on JVC's website. However, this may be because of manufacturing delays, as these are apt to sell out a few...

    Headphone SALE Audio Technica SQ5

Apparently they're not a bad portable pair of cans. Not as a $130 pair, but as a $50 pair.   Portability is good (they fold up), aesthetically they look quite nice (although the rectangular ear pads are quite large), sound quality is just mediocre. Like most Audio Technicas, they have very...

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

Yes, there are a number of differences between the two.   From what I've garnered, the 900s have soft, leather ear pads that are significantly more comfortable than the 700s'. They also have a more durable headband made of a more expensive (and also softer) material. As they are "semi-open,"...

    Thanks Frank! That's very helpful.

    JVC RX900: Sound Leakage?

Ah, thanks a lot for the advice guys! I think that settles it... Although, off hand, does anyone know how much quieter the 700s are than the 900s? Is there much of a difference? Because I could always order them + RX900 pads.

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

Well, another possibility is that manufacturing was simply halted for a short time. One of the mom n' pop store websites (I forget which one; it may have been on Google products), listed these as on backorder and mentioned that an initial small shipment of 10 was due Aug 3rd, followed by a...

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

What really annoys me though, is that I could have picked these up for something like $30.37 shipped (no tax) from Amazon just last week. Now I'll have to spend $50 after S&H and tax if I choose to buy from the 'egg, which appears to be the only reasonably-priced, legitimate website left with...

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

FYI I just got off the phone with JVC, on whose website they are OOS. Apparently they are widespread on backorder, and this customer service representative sugested that a new generation was on it's way to replace them, but noted that while he's typically given advance warning of future product...

Ugh, I noticed this too. I really don't want to spend $40 on a pair... But I might have to.

Which computer speakers should i buy?

The PSBs appear to be active; you'd need a receiver. As for subs, M-Audio makes one, but it's quite pricey. Take a look at the Dayton 100 series.
