From Sennheiser HD 650 to HiFiMAN HE-400i... there's no way back!

Here's a graph of the two. Slightly less bass it seems. I have the original HD650's and owned the HE4xx for a little while, but sold them because of the sibilance/kinda unnatural sounding treble. I don't really miss those cans besides the fast bass & how nice they reproduced some guitar.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

How do these compare to HD650's? Just got a my 4xx and I'm thinking I won't keep these very long.

    HiFiMan HE4XX

Just got these. Not really a fan, actually. I guess I like REALLY warm headphones... love how fast this driver is but the SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. You know what I mean. Not the typical planar bass either. Treble reminds me like a less harsh DT770...

Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around

You'd probably like Momentums, P7, and HP50 then. I have the same exact thoughts about the 770- I had to listen to low volumes and the treble was just unnatural to me, it got sold within the same month I bought it.

BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST

Let me know what you think. I've been listening to them for about an hour now. Great value, fun IEM. To my ears it seems there's a little bit of a scoop in the treble but I was able to fix it with Peace Equalizer.

Those looking for a cheap bassy pair for EDM/Rap/etc.... I just got these and they surprised me. Warm, fairly detailed, no harsh treble peaks/thin sounding treble. https://audiobudget.com/product/I-INTO/i8

V MODA M-100 still recommended for 250$ headphones?

If you don't care about warranty, you can get M100's for around $150 from Amazon Warehouse Deals. I got mine for $150 about three months ago or more, and they still work great as my portable cans.

Do you have any song names/albums by any chance that caused that?

"Overpriced amplification is just as bad as overpriced cables in this "hobby.""

I remember when I first got my Schiit Asgard/Modi, people said that amps make a HUGE difference and the HD650 scales. Also tested with a Q701. A/B'd with a Xonar DG Soundcard w/ amp ($15). I couldn't pick out the difference in sound.. and if there was any, you must REALLY have to listen...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

I still miss this headphone a lot even though I sold it due to comfort issues. I really hope NAD can make a second version with the comfort issues resolved. Recently got into the world of speaker audio and I can say my JBL LSR305 remind me a LOT of this headphone.

    Room Treatment/Room Acoustics

Just put a towel under the isolation pads and same thing. moving them to the edge of the front of the table helps. But lifting them up from the table - gone.

    Room Treatment/Room Acoustics

Oh, and I used to have a pair of cheap bookshelf speakers before these on my table with front bass ports; they also exhibited the same bass issue, but I didn't use them much because my headphones sounded far better. EDIT: The shades stay closed majority of the time.

    Room Treatment/Room Acoustics

Thanks for that advice. My headphones now kinda don't interest me anymore........ all this time buying and selling headphones when I could have just gotten a speaker setup for around the same price or even cheaper. I've got them placed a lot better now, my only issue is certain bass notes...

    Noise/Static

I was able to minimize the issue with one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L1NP7YI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews Soon as I plugged this in the noise is now a lot less, so in parts of music that are dead silent or fairly quiet, it's no longer...

    Noise/Static

Noise does not go away if I unplug all USB devices. I made sure the PC Monitor, PC, and amp are all on the same power strip. I tried plugging the amp into the wall, same issue. I turned off my PC and power supply and the issue was still there, although a bit less. Unplugged my modem and router...

    Noise/Static

I'm getting static noises through my rear 3.5mm jack, plugged into my studio monitor speakers (unbalanced connection I know). It doesn't happen with multiple different headphones plugged straight into the rear jack. It also happens though but not as much noise using my external USB Schiit Modi...
