Totally. I’m pumped to hear phonix (and ext,) but the overall build, packaging, and rarity of erlky undoubtedly contributes to what makes it special. The erlky also remains one of the two best iems I’ve heard to date, with the orphy recently unlocking quite a bit of potential I never even...

Totl ve stuff (erlky) has the best build I’ve seen to date in any iem. I would expect no less from Phonix.

😂 love that description. it might not work well for us audiophiles, but it's perfect for performers who use 64a gear.

I did just that! I caught and released quite quickly, but I admit it is very good, and for the price it is straight up bonkers.

The opening of the stock bird bores is wide open, and the tips are quite short. This doesn’t leave much space or…anything…between your ears and the estats. The 155s are long and a bit concave, so they add space and narrow the bore opening. The sonic impact is added warmth and a smoother attack...

I feel the exact opposite, heh. I am just sensitive to estats.

There ya go…centurion rec for the bird from a centurion user who’s also heard orphy and ft. And yes, I agree with @SeeSax that it’s difficult to wholeheartedly recommend a $4-5k cable…however, if you feel that the traillii is as good as I do, then the idea of fine-tuning it as much as possible...

I feel like centurion may be better based on feedback I have heard about it. I have not listened to Centurion myself. If you’re after bodied mids and more forward and powerful vocals, orphy is incredible. FT is likely better on that front as well.

yeah, this is where the traillii basically pulls ahead of everything else out there, and why I believe its price is justified.

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)

Heh, dude it’s your ears! After I heard orphy, my perspective about how much a cable could do to enhance sound shifted. And, as many others have said, it was hard to go back to stock. Indeed, I ultimately ended up selling the stock cable because I no longer had a use for it. I assume when you...
