They have a cool look to them and a unique approach. It's great to see watches with alternative time displays that are very easy to read.

I am not say it is a bad investment. I am say it is not an investment. It is an opportunistic transaction, not an investment.

It comes from the back drop where the the previous questions come from. Buying something at MSRP and flipping it the same day != smart investing. It is printing money, the vast majority of people cant do this because of what it takes at an AD to get the opportunity to buy at MSRP. And that...

I just want give my opinion on the market at the moment. Take it or leave it. We have to understand that these things "watches" are not investments anyone who sees them as such is dumb. We have to understand that the market has amnesia, not just in watches but in almost industry because...

Just be careful with what you take in from these youtubers. Its funny the ones who are openly associated with resellers or brands I find to be the most honest and balanced in their opinions. These "independent" ones.. I often have issues with.

This in addition to mistakes in the design and packaging of the orginal SRM-T2 almost sunk Stax.

I am pretty sure that around the time he started on the CC he stated exactly this in regard to the HV supply. I don't believe he has commented on the LV. He has also said that the version of the amp board in the DYI carbon is an early design, which he has continued to develop and refine since.

Have to remember the open heart style of tourbillon is not the only way. Watch brands, well some more than others.. are conservative. It is not uncommon to see older tourbillons only visible if there is a display back.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Neither. Spritzer typically has a loop out on his amps. So it goes via XLR :: Yggy > BHSE > Rag

I have a matching black pair too, not really feeling the need to upgrade the Rag.

CC has: Full size chassis upgrade powersupply RK50 silver signal wire fully shielded transformer There might be some other things too, if i am not mistaken this is an ongoing project so everything is subject to change and new more refined versions continue to be developed.

its not a hard task from a technical stand point, but it is a frustrating, fiddly pain in the ass. Not sure how to describe it.

KGSShv Carbon - hows it sound with the 009s?

I would talk with the amp builder about what is or isn't safe. local power conditions can effect which fuse needs to be spec'ed. My BHSE needed an adjustment. A cheap standard fuse from a large manufacturer that can be relied on to operate within the indicated spec is always a safe choice...

KGSShv Carbon - hows it sound with the 009s?

KG amps other than the all triode are dial mono. The only thing that happens when you send a single ended signal to it is that as you said it's not as hot, but all these amps have enough power to make you deaf without approaching their limits even with out the drive from a balanced source.

I think people do often talk about the quality of recordings and mastering for particular releases, either positive or negative.

There are what like 4 or 5 of those as of now and at least 2 work?! That's far to common, need to go tube output circlotron! Plus tuby goodness never hurts! You would be the first on the block with it!

HiFiMan Shangri-La Jr (New $8000 Electrostat)

Kerrys T2 is the best looker out of the DIY crowd by a country mile IMO. If you want to see some really special chassis work for the GG and BHSE check out what Headinclouds has done.

Unfortunately I've never gotten to hear the mki and mkii back to back so I won't comment on specific differences. On its own merit I will agree with the JimL11 the current mkii is not laid back up top. I would not call it forward either. I think they have got a nice balance with the current...

The current generation mkii with port mod is viewed as the best version by a few who might be in the stax mafia.. Not sure if your question about modding a mki is serious or joking. But my understanding is that all 007 mods are to get closer to the tonality of the mki?

I have heard all three, unfortunately in amps form different builders. Each individual amp sounded superb FWIW. The RK50 definitely feels the part if you ever get to handle it. Just from a physical presence stand point I have no problem dealing out the cash for it. I have heard that the dact...

I have a set of these that I bought about six months ago now.. I think I'd have to look back. The build quality issues talked about in the past are not present in my tubes, long term reliability is still a question obviously.
