    Master & Dynamic MW60 - Worth it?

I'm in the market for a portable pair of headphones. I have a preference for the Sennheiser sound, liking the HD598's I've gotten years back. But after trying and returning the Sennheiser PXC-550 due to slight but noticable sibilance (headache-inducing), I've been on the lookout for something...

Jabra Halo2 Portable headphones. How do they compare to the traditional choices?

Hey there Head-Fi!   I'm looking for something portable to play on my Galaxy SII around or below the 70 euro mark (Netherlands). I already own a pair of Sennheiser HD598's on my PC, so it will only be used on my phone. I listen to a wide variety of music, From Rock/Pop/Club to the occasional...

Community help requested. Underlying hiss/static noise in right ear cup

I've pinpointed that boosting the 12Khz frequency to max makes the interference most noticable.   If no one here has any idea, could anyone please point me to a place where I could troubleshoot this further? I've paid over 400 dollars to get this setup, and I'm very pleased with it. But this...

Community help requested. Underlying hiss/static noise in right ear cup

So, the FiiO came in today. Plugged it in using the USB provided Nice thing by the way.   Good news: No more high pitch noise in the lower frequencies. Bad news: I'm now having some kind of hiss in the right ear cup, most noticably when playing orchestral music. As if the sound reaches...

Community help requested. Underlying hiss/static noise in right ear cup

Alright. The problem has now progressed further, but in a different way. Some songs play completely fine (Pop/vocal), whilst others (Orchestral) are starting to having slight, various distortions. Mostly at complicated or demanding parts of the song. Nothing loud or anything, but it's just...

Community help requested. Underlying hiss/static noise in right ear cup

Quote: I'll make sure it's not just me, as the FiiO bypasses it all. Should it be eliminated, which I expect it to be, I'll mail them about the issue for what it's worth. Anyone else have some further insight into this? Google has exactly zero accurate results to this problem.

Quote: Well, I've ordered the FiiO E10 today, so we'll know more tomorrow if no obvious answer comes up. Still, why did it start only today and not earlier?

Community help requested. Underlying hiss/static noise in right ear cup

EDIT: Thread repurposed, see post 10 for latest info.   After updating my audio drivers today (VIA onboard), I've noticed a high pitch sound when reaching the 20-100 frequency with my HD598's. It's not loud, but it's noticable and it's from both the left and right side. I've tested both with...

Robustness of HD598 only thing keeping me from purchasing. Need advice from users.

Unfortunately not. I've only got experience the with Senns and the ATH-M50 (returning those), and I don't want to unintentionally give out mis-informed advice.   The only thing I can say is that closed headphones do isolate better amongst other thing, at the cost of losing the open-aired...

Best 'neutral' headphone that's easily driven out of an iPod or Clip

Unfortunately, the M50's suffer from reccessed mids. Compared to the 595's, they felt flat with no depth and uninteresting in my opinion. It's the main reason I've returned them as it was quite noticable.

Robustness of HD598 only thing keeping me from purchasing. Need advice from users.

They're pretty robust. Some find them plastic-y, but I've heard of stories where someone just took them in his bag and carries them around all day and they withstood the abuse pretty well. That said, they aren't as indestructable as those with metal casings, I guess. The issue with them cracking...

    Sub-$200: Audio-Technica ATH-M50S or Sennheiser HD 598

It depends on how you´re going to use your headphones.   Whilst the Sennheisers are far from ideal for using outside the house, they´re great for using indoors when no one´s around/alone in the room/they don't mind the leaking. I've had both the M50's and the Senns, and I'm in the process of...

New on the Head-fi field - Just received the Sennheiser 595's. Got some questions!

Thank you very much everyone, for replying to and putting up with my newb questions. To save some time and rambling, I've decided to stick with the 595's. I've also just managed to shake off the upgrade-itis bug this site gave me, by reading more about the 595 and their user's opinion. On this...

New on the Head-fi field - Just received the Sennheiser 595's. Got some questions!

In my country, if you purchase something online the owner is, by law, obliged to give you a 14 day trial run. In that time, you can contact them and return the product with no reason given, and they have to give your money back within 30 days. Let's hope I don't have to juggle between headphones...
