ToneKing has an interesting dual driver headphone that seems to be only available within the China market. Based of the Blon B8 cups. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d.6639537.1997196601.508.625d7484JJM1Jj&id=558751074570 Another interesting headphone is actually a ribbon driver one...

One could always wait it out for the Aliexpress sale. One is due soon and 11.11 isn't that far away. The CCA C16 came out at US$115, it eventually dropped to US$80 on sale. I would say if its good, then there really is no hurry to be a first adaptor. As with the CCA C16, I'll wait for that...

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)

He means, the phone being just a USB data output source. I do that sometimes too. It will boil down to the hardware driver availability and compatibility. If they are properly implemented, there really is no difference as its just pure digital signal to the DAC, be it Android or iOS. Do note...

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

When I read that, it simply means that the cable has a relatively higher resistance value. The lower power "dynamics" signals were attentuated at low volume by the cable. But once it gets beyond a threshold, you can pick them out as it higher than the attenuated losses.

This actually measures consistently compared to the TRN 8 core that came in black/silver.

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

I haven't bought any of the TRN cables after the 1st batch I bought. I was frankly puzzled too as to why the difference in resistance between the R+ / L+ pins and ground were so great. I found the NiceHCK 8-core ones were really good measuring after Hakuzen's measurements. I measured and...

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

"Fake" as in the cable strand is not connected to any of the connectors at the ends at all. If you have measured the resistance values of the TRN cables, which I did, Hakuzen did too. The odd thing about the 8-strand (mine was the black and silver one), was that the ground pin always had the...

BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST

That logic fails me. I have earbuds too. My personal favourite is the TO600. And it leaks, both ways. And yes, I agree. They only work for me if I were listening in a fairly quiet environment, else would have to churn up the volume to sufficiently block out the background. And likewise the...

CCA in ear monitors Impressions Thread

It is possible. But from what I observe, its got to do with listening to the C16 at pretty loud volumes and devices that have poor distortion control. But mostly the former. If you listen to the C16 at moderate to low volumes, it is really quite the awesome experience. Lush, detailed, and well...

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

Depending on your sound signature preferences, the shell used for the AS10, AS06 provides excellent isolation. To my ears, the isolation was on par with the ZS4 / Zs4 shell. On a personal level, the CCA C10 sounded better to me than the AS06. So I would recommend that instead for sound quality...
