Seems so, like they did with previous amps and combos too. Maybe they prefer to provide power rating for a given amount of THD (e.g.: <0.1%) or simply they want to stick with a lower number to ensure thermal stability under all circumstances. One thing's for sure: this headamp is a beast with a...

4.489V RMS from the fixed output XLR (you may notch down the knob volume below 98 if you want something more close to 4V), 11.94V RMS from preamp XLR output (you need to notch it down to 77). However, the gain from previous batches of C3X was a bit higher, so you will still need to use a...

Thanks Bobby! Yes, I swapped several opamps inside (OPA1612, OPA1652, OPA1632, JRC5532D etc.). From a measurement perspective, I haven't found any differences, although my ears couldn't spot the V6 Vivid from the 5532, but I'll retry with more songs and see if something will change.

    Burson Soloist 3X Performance

Balanced/Non-balanced headphones amplifier with integrated preamplifier inside. Shiny and elegant design, quite similar in color and shape with the Conductor 3 series Key Features: 8Wpc XLR, 4Wpc SE Headphone amp / Preamp. Three levels of feedback based gain, matching headphones from 60db...

Just ping Burson today, tell them about the different time zones or about Corona staff, then ask them nicely if they can provide you the discount needed. Maybe you'll be lucky.

My last couple of messages too. :) However, you need to use a true-RMS DMM and a 60Hz input sinewave or a scope and 1KHz sinewaves, just to be sure you're measuring iy correctly. With your last measurement this means 2.9 Ohms which is still to high. You can also measure the drop voltage directly...

@miceblue you need to measure it again and post here the results of V RMS for different resistive loads. Thank you!

Referring to FUN Basic, did you happen to know a cheaper headamp (less than$ 299) able to deliver in single-ended operation about 2x2W/channel @32Ohms, ideally with discrete output stage? I'm aware about: Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 (2x1.3W @$349), Lake People G109 (about 2x2W @$450), but both are...

Unfortunately, your MUSES02 is a fake. You should stop using eBay when purchasing MUSES opamps...sorry for that. :(

Despite both amps share the same Burson DNA and a similar output stage, SL MK2 has the advantage of a very silent linear PSU (https://www.bursonaudio.com/technology/low-noise-power-supply/) and an adjustable gain (https://www.bursonaudio.com/technology/variable-output-stage-vos/) to perfectly...

I received about one month ago a 2x40W speakers power amplifier having a 5.25” internal computer bay size (CD/DVD-ROM unit like). I was really surprised when I saw its size because I’ve never seen so much power from a stereo power-amp working in A/B class inside a such a small CD/DVD-like case...

I got thrilled last year when I saw BURSON announcements about lunching the PLAY DAC/headphone amplifier combo device. It was one of the best combo I've seen on market at that price, yes...the basic PLAY with NE5532/5534 sounded awesome and for that price was a steal. Now they brought on the...

BURSON PLAY I received this wonderful DAC/headamp combo a couple of weeks ago from BURSON-Australia to give it a listen and write a detailed review here, many thanks to Charles for that. Nice review, thank you! Please, take care of what OPAMPs you're rolling to HPA-3B, because this little beast is powered by NJM7818/7918 regulators delivering +/-18V. LME49710/49720 should be powered by no more than +/-17V (at least this is what manufacturer recommends). LME49990 and OPA2132...
