Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

On the topic of M4U 1 and PM-3, I tried both and decided to go for the latter. Why? Personal preference. Which is better? Why is it better? Is it really better?  One man's meat is another man's poison. I like it, you don't, he likes it, she doesn't. That is just the way it is.  Glad there...

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

HD25s had better isolation, but it comes with the price. Head clamp. Not as comfortable as the PM-3s.

Review by 'kleefurd' on item 'OPPO PM-3'

Never owned a Planar Magnetic headphones and have been wondering what the fuss is all about. Only impression I had on them were "expensive". But yet, over the period of time that I have read all the reviews here, it seems that everyone who owns a pair have nothing but good things to say. So when...

I order them direct from the Beyerdynamics distributor in my region.

New Teac HA-P50-B Portable DAC Amp

I find the treble "tamed" and the bottom end more pronounced. The mids are a little cleaner, but as compared to the other more neutral headphones/earphones, the Triple Fi does not really change much, nor benefit sonically when paired with the HA-P50.

The fluffies pads, I call these. They add a lot more comfort than the stock DT1350s for sure.

New Teac HA-P50-B Portable DAC Amp

Nothing beats auditioning it yourself. Sound is so subjective. I personally love the HA-P50 a lot for its warmth and clean sound, but some folks I know don't agree with me. Best that you can go to a local store near you to audition them.

Hong Kong - Where is the best place to get an ear impression and Westone ES5s?

Hello fellow headfiers... I am going to be in HK next week for a business trip and I would like to get some ear impressions made. I was wondering where would be a convenient location on Hong Kong island side? Also, I would like to send one of the impressions to a shop that takes in orders...

You are most welcome. Audition them or borrow them to test out in your home studio. You should then be able to make a decision.

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread

Once the bands are loosened (you can do this by hand, gently) they are extremely comfortable. Not when new. The PVC leather on the Sony were giving some folks rashes. That was really bad. In terms of sound, that is where things get interesting in discussion. I would consider the DT1350 a...

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread

The Sony are pretty much "industry standard", but I really like the extra brightness for the vocalists' use especially with the female vocals. They tend to cut better into the headphones mix. The smaller can footprint on the DT1350 makes it easier to wear over long sessions as compared to the...

I used these in the studio to replace the Sennheiser HD25s. The brighter high end gives the singer and guitarist more clarity when they are singing/playing. Those who have tracked with the DT1350 loves them so far. Especially the vocalists.

    AEDLE VK-1 Limited Edition Headphones

I am not arguing your point, but just curious when you said "least neutral", what were you referencing to? Some models of headphones or actual studio monitors? Please share as I would love to learn something from you.

    AEDLE VK-1 Limited Edition Headphones

After running it past the 100 hours, the sound is very "rounded". Everything sounded very nearfield monitor like, not hi-fi speakers. Not airy, or overly spacious, which is the soundstage that I personally prefer. The treble sit in nicely, bottom end is tight without sounding boomy. I would...

It is common in any manufacturing that there will be a small percentage that might have missed QC inspection. Since QC are made up of human beings. I am quite sure this is not a design flaw since it is based on an existing model and tweaking it.

Opppsss... I was searching for the same topic through Google. Should have paid attention to the date. Thanks for the note. ^_^

    AEDLE VK-1 Limited Edition Headphones

Just got a pair of the Limited Edition (brown leather version). I like the voicing of the product, it is a good addition to the "small soundstage" headphones for reference when in the studio. My first pair of "bling bling" headphones. Maybe as I get older, the lamer I become, but what they heck...

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread

That is why we end up with a small collection of expensive headphones / amps / DAC which we have a hard time explaining to people who don't get it when they say "All I need is my iPhone and my Beats". Having better ears is quite a curse, in a way. ^_^

I don't think anyone can totally agree with anyone when it comes to sound. It is like trying to decide the balance between how much soy sauce and wasabi is the best for sushi. It is up to everyone's personal preference. Good to know you are excited and loving the K7XX. For me the reason the...

I have to agree with the "break in according to what works for you". There is no one way being the right way. More importantly, if you tried something and it works, that is your way.

Go to your local hi-fi store and check with them about burning in tracks. It is just different pulses and frequencies and blips, you can play back Aphex Twins, some of their tracks can be quite similar. ^_^ I have no experience with Audio-gd NFB-15 or 11 so I am of no help here.
