    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I use a cayin c5 with my modas and they have no problem handling the power that puts out. If you want bass you'll have to invest in an amp. There's just no way around it. Think in terms of car audio, same thing, no power no bass. The 2 most recommend amps are the fiio e12 and the cayin c5. I'd...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Listen HiFiGuy528, I'm not trying to give you a hard time, just letting you know the cost of admission in this thread. It's not hard to do a paper test for all of us to see. If you or someone else owns these Focals then please have at it. Otherwise it's just hype that we're all sick of seeing...

I'm glad the modas are still on the list. They're especially good for traveling. I'm in Maui for the weekend and my wife used them on the plane. She's not into this stuff at all but she kept telling me how much she liked them. Good thing I brought my xb90's with me.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I switched back to the stock pads from the xl's. They seemed comfortable at first, but the opening is too small for me. But as a consequence I'm getting much more bass through the stock pads. I've been using the stock pads for about a month now and it's pretty comfortable for long periods of...

I saw them last year also. They had this guy waving the lion of Judah the entire concert. That dude ran around the stage for 2 hours, I thought his arms were gonna fall off. The show wasn't as good as I was hoping for though. I've seen Collie Budz, Slightly Stoopid, The Green, and Matisyahu at...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

The hi/low gain and bass boost switches were having problems. If anything touched them it would crackle loudly. It was a few months before it started happening and it just got worse and worse. Also, the plastic cover for the pot started popping off on one side. I would snap it back down but it...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Good looking and practical form factor, but purely from a power standpoint it's not enough for the m100 imo. They can handle much more than the 150mW the verza puts out. The fiio e12 and cayin c5 are good options for these cans.

My issue with the c5 is durability. I used it at work everyday for a few months and it didn't hold up well. I got a replacement under warranty and I use it like a desktop amp now.

Well since you're looking for portability that alone should point you towards the v-moda. I wouldn't give that video from Zeos any credibility. He recs the dt770 and Nighthawk over these for bass headphones. Those headphones aren't even on the list. He knows nothing about headphones for...

Since the lp2's where too bass heavy for you, you'll probably hate the m100 then.

I took a long hard look at the wireless before I bought the regular m100. But they don't fold up and they were $90 more so I passed. If the wireless folded up I probably would have gotten them.

I gotta say that I like my sz1k, but I love my m100's. I took the m100's and the cayin with me to Hawaii and they fit in my backpack without taking up a lot of room. I've enjoyed them every night if my trip so far. Very hassle free headphones for traveling.

I'm coming from a similar set up. I used a set of Razor Blacksharks for gaming. Now that I have the m100 I use that for gaming instead. I get a better sense of where things are at with them, and they sound better in every way compared to the Razor. I tried the sz1k for gaming and wasn't a fan...

Tell me about it. My adventure began by looking for bass headphones for work. I got the wooduos, but they only lasted about a year. That led to the xb90, then the cayin amp, then the m100 for traveling, and lastly the sz1k because why not? I mean the basshead king's little brother for $135...

I'm glad you liked those eq settings. I only use the sz1k at home so adding a dac in the chain wouldn't bother me at all. And a reasonably priced dac too? If it makes a difference with the veil on these I'd definitely be interested.

The cayin didn't do anything for the veil on my sz1k. I've been trying to eq it out but I haven't had much luck. But I haven't had them long, so maybe I'll find some eq settings that accomplish this. I'm not saying I don't like these headphones. I just use them with music that are up it's alley...

Your e18 will be just fine. Another thing I forgot to mention if you're considering a portable headphone is the company's warranty policy. If you're getting them from amazon you could also get their accidental coverage for additional piece of mind.

If portability is a factor then get the v-moda. When they are folded up in their case they fit in my hoodie pocket. For home use I'd go with the jvc, unless you don't mind waiting until the taction's come out. No matter which way you go you'll need an amp to get real basshead levels. But all...

I was just in the market for bt iems. I picked up the jaybird x2 for my daughter and the Motorola surround for myself. The jaybirds are pretty good. Bass isn't anything notable but better than the other bt iems. The Motorola's on the other hand are absolute crap. I watched 4 or 5 video reviews...

I think you could use the camera kit with the iphone and e18. But I don't know if the dac in the e18 will sound any better than the iPhone's. I'd go with the e12. It's just an amp and is more powerful than the e18.

Amazon has the white v-moda m100 for $204. Trust me man, the m100 is fantastic for edm. And it sounds pretty good even without an amp.

Hbb covered the main reasons why you'd do this. But I do it because my c5 has a slight imbalance at low levels. Lowering the source volume lets you use more gain from the amp, getting you above the area where the imbalance is. For my amp it's above 2 on the dial. What player are you using...

If the m100 is a 7 on a bass scale the sz1k is a 9 1/2 (Using a cayin amp). It'll scratch that basshead itch in a way the m100 could only dream of. You'll be happy with your purchase man.
